NFO files for home movies

Hello everyone!

Is there a way to create NFO files for home movies that contain all the information as a regular movie?

I’d like to be able to display the actors (aka my family), the rating system, etc. and have them under the genre of Home Movies. When I do this with a “home movie” tag at the top, it doesn’t display these items. It’s only when I change it to a movie that it will display all the information. However, I don’t want home videos to show up under movies, so my collection is cleaner.

I’ve followed the instructions for creating NFO metadata files in a text document, and they work, just not when…

they’re listed above as a < home movie>, instead of the < movie> format.

Yes, you can use this example file as a template and list your family as the cast. You may not have a TMDB ID for yourself, but if you have a weblink to an avatar you can use that as the ‘thumb’ tag for each person. :slight_smile:

That is what I’m currently doing.

However, my home videos show up in my movies and I want to keep them in a separate area.

In that case, you can try using this XML file sample.

It won’t support quite as many tags as NFO though.
