Wonderful update. I am just wondering how to implement the new .m3u and .pls playlist features. Can I use any of these with my TV shows to create a sort of channel? Say to have a “Kids Show” Channel.

Ok, so I am guessing the playlist thing isn’t quite possible in Media Player right now. Alternatively, can Media Player recognize alias files? If it can, I could effectively accomplish the same thing.
M3U and PLS support is only included in Couch Surfer at the moment. This will probably make its way to Media Player in the future, but there’s no ETA just yet.
Symbolic links are not currently supported. Sorry. 
how do you you access it through couch surfer?
