I recently replaced my Synology NAS with a UGREEN NAS. Both the NAS and my Apple TV 4K (latest generation) are connected to the network via Ethernet.
Since the switch, I’ve noticed a delay of around 5-10 seconds whenever I start a video or when the next episode begins automatically. Playback itself is fine once it starts, but the initial loading time is much longer than it was with my Synology NAS.
Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what might be causing this?
Have you run a speed test in Infuse to see what you’re getting with the new NAS? Any chance you’re running SMB3? If so try switching to either SMB 2 or Legacy.

The initial test result showed an average throughput of 442 Mbps.
After setting Infuse to use SMB2 as the maximum protocol, the average throughput increased to 546 Mbps. I now need to verify whether this also results in smoother or faster playback.
That said, all devices are connected through a 1 Gbit network. Shouldn’t the transfer rate be significantly closer to 1 Gbps (1,000 Mbps)?
There is an overhead associated with SMB, and you are getting about the maximum that you can. Infuse speed test is showing the streaming performance that also accounts for playback overhead as well. But that should be more that enough. Once your speeds are that high I think you hit device performance limits.
