This is my first try at this: I have a Memorex 1GB Travel Drive formatted in OSX Extended. I run the installer, agree to the license & then choose the 1GB Travel Drive & click "Start". It does it's partitioning & I see the little flash drive light twinkling. I get to choose the software I want to install & then click 'OK'. I immediately get the error "boot.efi not found! Make sure you have a mounted OSBoot volume". I can only click 'OK' again & the application closes. I do notice that now the mounted 1GB Travel Drive is called "Patchstick-root". When I formatted it, I called it "Flash". Please help, Thanx 5uck3rpunch
You need to download and open the file under step #1 in the Self Install Guide. Take a look at the read me file contained on the disk image.
Silly me. I thought that file was the same as the one in the .dmg file. Glad to hear I made the mistake & I can continue. One other thing; since this is a BRAND NEW Apple TV that I never updated, do I not update it or can I update the AppleTV with the Apple update because I am going to install ATV Flash 3.1??
The 3.1 aTV Flash version is compatible with the 2.0.2 software, which is probably what your Apple TV came with.
We are nearing completion of an updated package that will be compatible with the newest 2.1 software.

No, your not silly. The instructions almost immediately dive into a pit of vagueness. The instructions and the site need to be overhauled. It’s currently trying to ride a line between techie and joe user which is just frustrating to both sides.
They need to hire ( someone like me!) someone to overhaul their marketing and design approach on many different levels.
