I hope this is in the right place, this is my first time posting.
I recently got a ATV 2 jailbroken 4.4 from ebay. I’ve had problems since i got it a few days ago and i can get a return on it if i want, but i said ill try ask a few questions before i bother with that.
I think who i got it from pretty much only used it for streaming from his computer to his tv with it.
anyyywhoooooo, the problem.
i cant get anythingto work haha
it says it has NITOtv and XBMC on it but everytime i click on the install on NITOtv it seems to just just flash green and restart the apple tv and back to square one like i did nothing.
When i go into XBMC and click on any movie on there it says the file does not exist anymore and asks if i would like to remove it. i try to add a addon i get “error script; file name here” or something like that. i tried adding the fusion source and adding things like 1channel but i still get the exact same failing.
i hope thats enough describing of whats going on, and theres an easy fix.
thanks in advance to anyone that takes out time to help!
Are you sure this is running version 4.4? That’s very uncommon and would mean its a tethered jailbreak. Likely you mean version 4.4.4?
Regardless, before trying anything else you should download the lastest version of iFaith to see what saved blobs are available. Its not that difficult to rejailbreak it yourself if you can’t get it to work. Just don’t update the software.
so ive ended up getting really frustrated before i could get a reply (been asking another forum for days) and l tried to rejailbreak it but i still had the same problems on xbmc and what not. i just installed ifaith with a few handy viruses. ill check it now. the fact i cant even get it to turn on now it pretty shit.
I would just try jailbreaking it in its current state. If it doesn’t work you can always update it to 5.3 and then downgrade/jailbreak to 4.3 To be honest, I’ve never performed a jailbreak on 4.XX versions before. I’ve never had a problem installing Nito and xbmc on 5.XX versions though. I use a windows installer for them also.
