New Apple TV 2 software Version 4.0 - need help Jailbreak

I just bought a new apple tv 2 and the software version is 4.0.  What are my options for jailbreaking?

I bought one too.  I have not managed to be able to get Sn0wbreeze of Seas0npass to jailbreak this version so tomorrow I am going to try TotalCommander.

I’ll let you know if I manage it.

It’s not easy.

I can’t make a Seasonpass patched firmware file to use in Total Commander because I cannot find any version of Seas0npass that will download  and patch software version 4.0 (4.0 (iOS 4.1 - 8M89) - untethered)
I tried making a patched IPSW file in an early version of Sn0wbreeze but I chose simple rather than expert version and I ended up with a file that wasn’t patched (it wanted to validate file with Apple which is of course a waste of time.

So, unless I can find a version of Seas0npass that will patch 4.0 (iOS 4.1 - 8M89) - untethered then I am stuck.

Ignore all that lot.  I just checked Seas0npass 0.9.2 on my Macbook, and it starts at 4.0.  So, I’ll take it to work on monday and use the Macbook to create the patched IPSW…

I have only had my apple tv 3  days so im a bot of newbie.

What do i need to download or do?

I just got on too. Latest FC will update and tether it to 5.3. Can’t save the signature but it can be jail broken. Enjoy.

We are aware of that, thanks, but the whole idea is to be able to jailbreak it UNTETHERED.
