Why isn’t there a music player functionality in Infuse yet? I would be great with artwork, song lyrics and information about the current playing track.
The iPhone 7, 8 & X and the Apple TV 4K all have native FLAC support. Apple is not taking advantage of it with iTunes. I and I am sure a lot of other users have a large collection of lossless music on our NAS, external HDD’s, etc. The whole ecosystem can be part of this experience besides the iPhones. Maybe even with CarPlay support for cars?
It would be great if Infuse is finally taking listening to music to a whole new level. I just love the concept of Infuse and the hard work people like James are investing to it. It’s an innovative, beautiful and easy to use app for video, I can only imagine the things Infuse can do with music in lossless quality. And maybe also support for the old fashioned mp3’s.
Hi, you may want to do a forum search for this (click on the search option in the webpage header). This has been discussed many times and looks highly unlikely. Personally I would love it but see why it has not been implemented.
I would love to see this feature on my Apple TV 4K but I rather not have Infuse do it but rather a separate app exclusively for Hi-Res FLAC ALAC audio playback with Infuse like features. As much as it would sound good for Infuse to be able to “do it all” but the truth is, that It should master the video format playback and experience as apposed to now split its focus on trouble shooting audio compatibility and experience where focus could be placed on more important things like Atmos, DTS:X, smoother UI, faster scrapping, movie feturettes, etc.
+1 for high res music support on Apple TV, especially multi-channel (4.0, 5.0, 5.1, etc) flac (24bit, 88 and 96). DSD support would also be nice, transcoded to pcm of course.
I tried Plex which works perfectely for some multi-channel albums, but not for other (it won’t play the next track on some albums for some weird reason), so I would love to pay for a FireCore Apple TV app that handles these multi-channel files without a hitch!
I just wanted to let you know that you’re not alone in this! I’ve been experiencing this issue as well. I posted on the Plex forums as well if you want to chime in there.
I also want to add myself to the “willing to pay for a music-focused app” group. I listen to music for 12-18 hours a day, so I’m not afraid of paying good money for a reliable way to listen to all my FLAC files on Apple TV!
I agree that an infuse music app would be great. The current infuse does a great job with video, they should come up with a separate app for music. To combine both would be nice for the user, but a large app can cause other issues. Keep the apps small, running smooth and fast would be better.
If there was an infuse music app available, I would have one.
I have a huge music collection and do not need to stream music. I just need an app to play what I have.
Prism looks promising, but requires a Plex server. I, too, prefer storing my data on my NAS or Google Drive. I’ve used Plex for a long time, now I need something simple like Infuse.
If you’re going to discuss other than support for the suggestion as in other options you may want to move the discussion to the “Off Topic” area here https://firecore.com/forum/104 instead of bumping this thread.
My advice is that the feature is good but it will be only good if implemented well,
Music library should be separated from movies library as such one small button with two icon maybe on the corner that switch both library so the ui it would be totaly different
