Multiple user profile is not working

Cannot switch between different user profiles on Apple TV. It is always be the one who own the Apple TV.

Do you see different content when you navigate inside Infuse?

If not, this may related to a tvOS bug that some other users were seeing when upgrading to tvOS 26. Unfortunately, the only fix is to perform a factory restore.

If you are seeing the correct content inside Infuse, but not while on the Apple TV home screen this may be related to a tvOS bug related to the Top Shelf area not changing when switching Apple TV profiles. We have reported this to Apple and are waiting on a fix.

I came here looking for reasons why I can’t seem to enable profiles at all in Infuse 8.3.2 (5433). There’s no ‘Profile’ option in the top-level Settings, nor in Settings > General. Should there be?

I’m new to Infuse, but have spent a lot of time curating my library and would hate to have to reset the whole device.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

In general, Infuse relies on the system profiles on Apple TV and Mac. This effectively allows you to maintain unique Infuse installations for each person.

Thanks @james for your reply.

Perhaps it might help if I outline what I’m trying to achieve. I want to prevent the kids from watching content that is age inappropriate. I set up the ATV, so it’s operating using my profile. When I tried to enable an additional profile on tvOS, it asked for a sign in. I stopped at this point. I don’t want the kids to have an iCloud account. Are you saying that this is necessary to enable profile functionality within Infuse?

Thanks.

As of today, yes. However, the upcoming tvOS 26.2 update will allow you to create kids profiles without having to link an Apple ID.

@james, well, hallelujah for that. I was on the brink of an Orwellian precipice and about to fall into a pit of despair. (What took them so long to understand this?)

Anyway, thanks for the clarification. When this madness becomes a thing of the past and it’s possible to create profiles on ATV without an iCloud account, will the process to link Infuse profiles be the same?

Much appreciated.

Yes, nothing should change. Create a new profile on Apple TV for your child and you can set up Infuse showing only the content you want them to see. Parental controls can be enabled for Infuse under the child’s profile but disabled in others.

Of course, without a linked Apple ID you won’t get some of the iCloud Syncing features for that profile, but that’s probably not too big of a deal.

@james great! Thank you.
