FWIW I find myself constantly gravitating towards Plex, a technically inferior player, just because the library browsing and filtering and sorting features are night and day better. It makes a huge difference. I hope this gets addressed someday — and not just for Library mode but also Plex mode.
I want this feature so badly.
Large media libraries require a more organized approach than what’s currently offered in Infuse. The ability to combine multiple filters is a major step in that direction.
This needs to be prioritized…
Infuse currently markets itself as the best video player for iOS and while thats true I’d say in 2025 that many users value discovery of their large collections as much as playback.
Hundreds of users have begged Infuse over more than a decade to give us something as simple as being able to have two filters active. Hear them crickets?
I don’t see the hostility towards the user base in this regard. It seems that rather than ignoring us Infuse could take our suggestions and add this feature which would then go right into the marketing.
For example:
Infuse Library Discovery features allow you to filter your collection to find exactly what you are looking for.
Show Genre + Year, Genre + Rating, Unwatched + Rating, 4K + Highly Rated or combine up to four filters!
Social Filtering allows you to find what watch next by following other Infuse users:
See what your friends are watching, what they’ve rated highly or see what the Infuse community thinks!
The point is thaf Infuse listens really well as long as its engineering based but isn’t responsive to any discovery features. If James responded to this post I’d stop everything to help Infuse for free and deliver a half dozen easy to code features that could be prominenty featured on the Firecore home page!
Hey @james
How about an update or even a response to let us know you care.
I second this. I would to some of these little requests worked on and get them out of the way.
I really hope it’s gonna happen soon. We are asking this since years but I never even saw a dev answering that this feature was on track, and I don’t understand why. I do not see how it would be even a technical difficulty. It’s the most important feature missing to Infuse.
Topic is marked as “planned” but still not on the Upcoming Features topic…
Planned = Feature has been given a loose internal timeframe (no ETA available)
A decade ago it would have been novel to add a secondary filter.
Sometime in the past five years simply enabling the Plex functionality would have been reasonable.
Moving the feature from upcoming back to planned and then never telling us why isn’t cool.
Enabling the Plex feature would not be labor intensive, neither would adding it directly.
I haven’t yet posted my Apple app store review. Maybe if I do so the devs would see the importance.
If we all posted App Store reviews do you all think that might get it back to upcoming?
Well that is what I just did
@NC_Bullseye I understand that it has been given a loose internal timeframe, but this topic is 6 years old
Anyway, let’s hope this feature will appear soon.
I really hope the next big update will include improvements in this area. At minimum you should be able to filter by unwatched + something.
Just bumping this to show that this is the #1 feature I am hoping will come to Infuse and I can‘t believe it is apparently not for a lot of other people. Over the years my collection has grown and using Infuse to find something to watch would be so much easier with multiple filters.
I know this has been asked so many times (found a post back from 2017) but here we are 8 years after and nothing like that was implemented yet ![]()
It would be essential having filters when browsing a library added to the top. It’s time saving having the ability to filter a library by watched/unwatched or even by genre. I am not talking about creating lists… just a filter of whatever is being displayed to the screen. This feature alone would be a decision maker to many people.
I moved your post to a currently running suggestion requesting this feature. Please don’t duplicate suggestions, that makes it difficult to track requests.

Liked and bumped! Didn’t realize this was such an old request. It would really be nice to browse by more than one filter.
For example: Going through the horror genre this month and being able to sort by or toggle just unwatched films would be great vs looking for orange markings on covers.
This would hopefully apply to the “Picks of the Day” feed as well.
It’s 2026. Can we finally get some love for this feature??? Please!!!
Does the “planned” tag mean the Infuse team actually have this on their roadmap?
If so, what is the approxiimate timeline for delivery?
I don‘t think there is a timeline since it‘s not on the Upcoming Features list.
Hopefully it will show up soon. This my #1 requested feature right with extras which looks to be coming soon.
Here’s an explanation of what the tags mean. ![]()
And as “planned”, there is not available ETA so hang in there and hope we’ll see it soon. ![]()
This feature seems like an easy one to knock out and get off the list. I sure could use it. ![]()
Is there a plan to create a tiered filter?
For example having a top tier filtering unwatched from watched movies or tv videos, then have them sorted by release date, followed by genre or other filter categories.
Personally I like Jellyfin’s option to always hide watched movies in every filter category while still being able to sort by release date or other filter option.
Right now in Infuse I can select a category like ACTION but can’t filter out watched, I only have the options to sort by release date or name, etc.
I moved your post to a currently running suggestion thread requesting this feature.
