Multiple filters at the same time from Library

@james

Terrible that this highly-requested, long-delayed item is removed from “Planned” to “Wishlist” so that you can redirect Firecore’s resources to supporting brand new OS’s for incredibly expensive new devices no one is ever going to use in significant numbers and half-baked introductions of brand new means of interacting with third-party media servers.

What have you got against finally fixing your core product and bringing it closer to feature complete?

If native, vanilla Infuse finally gained the long inexplicably-omitted features like this one, far fewer people would need to depend on third-party media managers in the first place.

Feels like a gut punch every time you divert resources away from fixing your core product, always chasing the next shiny object.

Any update on this feature now that direct streaming is complete?

Not complete yet. Still being worked on. Still on the upcoming features list to beyond 7.7.5

Adding filters is a requested feature that goes back ten years with a hundred different user requests in the forums.

It was added to the planned features and then removed recently.

Is there any reason to not add it now that sorting is being worked on?

Could the hundred or more Infuse users who have requested this contribute to a fund to add it if its a matter of resources?

I’d be willing to pay $50 for it. If there were other features that were focused on media discovery I’d pay even more.

Infuse should focus on being the best media discovery app next. While I’ve paid for a lifetime membership I’d be willing to give that up to make Infuse a better product and pay all over again for a premium membership that included more.

Otherwise Infuse is stuck as simply being a media player which is sad as it could be so much more.

Infuse should give power users with large libraries more than Plex, not offer less.

It seems we are stuck as users with the ability to play media but not much more.

Did we get multiple filters in Infuse 8?

Can we can an additional sorting method? Currently I use sort by Date. I would like go a step further that would sort by Date then Unwatched.

To be clear, newest and unwatched appear first in list( this would apply to anything in folders also). Watched (or fully watched in folders and seasons) then go to bottom of list and just sorted by date.

Just reviving this because it is one of the single most important features so many of us desperately need, especially those of us with large libraries. Not only would multiple filters be a huge upgrade, but just the sorting options Plex has right now as options would be great. For example, why can’t I just show unwatched (don’t care if it’s a movie or a tv show). Showing by “Plays” is ridiculous and often doesn’t work the same way as unwatched does, because it doesn’t sort properly.

I don’t need to see hundreds of movies when I only want to see the movies I haven’t watched yet in alphabetical order. But being able to see the unwatched in alphabetical order with the watched movies below in alphabetical order would be a good middle point.

Honestly, everything else works fine, at least for me. This is the only thing I keep looking for in every release and roadmap.

Don’t forget that you need to click the like button on the first post in this thread to show your support for this suggestion!

A while back I went through posts in Suggestions and found this to be one of the oldest requested features, going all the way back to 2011. There was a message that all 100+ requests had been consolidated but when I look at the first post it is from 2019, not 2011.

I bring this up because whoever consolidated this request did it a disservice as it now appears to be 1/10th of its actual importance and popularity.

Should all the people who previously liked the previous posts have to re-like it? Why not combine the requests correctly?

Any updates on this feature request? It’s disappointing that we still haven’t gotten it after all these years:(

The thread is tagged as “planned” so it’s on the devs radar. I’d guess it’s a pretty in depth rewrite of that section of the app so it’s probably going to take some time.

FWIW I find myself constantly gravitating towards Plex, a technically inferior player, just because the library browsing and filtering and sorting features are night and day better. It makes a huge difference. I hope this gets addressed someday — and not just for Library mode but also Plex mode.
