Multichannel Audio Loss at Higher Playback Speeds on macOS

Software Version: 8.0.5
Platform: macOS

Issue Description

When playing any video with multichannel audio support on macOS, the multichannel output functionality is lost at playback speeds higher than 1x.

  • Expected Behavior:
At all playback speeds, multichannel audio output should remain active, and the Spatial Audio settings along with the multichannel text should appear in the AirPods menu bar settings.

  • Actual Behavior:

    • At 1x playback speed, the Spatial Audio settings and multichannel text are visible and functional.
    • At playback speeds above 1x, the output reverts to basic stereo, and the multichannel settings disappear.

Additional Notes

  • This issue does not occur on iPadOS, where multichannel output works as expected at all playback speeds.
  • It appears to be specific to macOS and could indicate a platform-specific bug.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Play any video with multichannel audio support on macOS using version 8.0.5.
  2. Observe the multichannel functionality at 1x playback speed (works as expected).
  3. Increase the playback speed to greater than 1x.
  4. Notice the loss of multichannel output and reversion to stereo.

Just to cover all bases, you may want to update Infuse to the latest release. 8.0.6

And provide the version number of macOS.

Just updated, unfortunately issue still persists.
I am on macOS 14.7.1

Have you thought about updating the Mac OS to 15.2?

Is that the solution? I use quite a few softwares that are not completely stable on macOS 15 yet.

Frankly my iPad is also not on the latest iPadOS. It is currently on 17.6.1.
