If you look at how naturally the Apple TV, Apple Music and Apple Podcast apps adapt to the respective profile when the user changes, it is incomprehensible that this should be so difficult to realize with Infuse, at least in the case of use as Jellyfin or Plex frontend.

I agree. This is more than disappointing. I’m already transitioning to plex - testing it and most probably will switch if infuse won’t implement at least this (and hopefully also IPTV) feature before my pro subscription expires.

This is still marked as planned. Hopefully a lot of the Home Screen performance updates pre-plumbed for multi-users.
The feature is still marked as planned, and I recall it was in the Upcoming Features thread, however when I look into the thread (updated 11/20/24), it seems the developer removed the planned feature.

Honestly, the fact that this isn’t a feature is kinda wild. How does a streaming app, that has a TV app, not have multiple users. Do you think only one person lives at each house? How is it acceptable that this has been a feature for 8 years and still doesn’t exist?
I for one will say that I will never spend my money on this app until that is a feature, nor will anyone I know

If it’s not possible; they should say it’s not possible.
But they haven’t, so why is this not here yet?
Their change in focus worries me. I was planning to give my Apple TV box to my old dad so he can enjoy some good TV series, and the planned infuse multi-users feature would make things so much easier. However with the feature removed from plan, I fear we won’t see it coming in the near future.
From what I can see it’s still planned.
@james can you confirm that this feature is still planned? I don’t see it in the upcoming features post.

I think that the community do deserve some kind of update regarding this, since its been a request for multiple years.
I would be nice to know if it will be implemented or not.

Hello, I’m still waiting for this feature. What sounds put the solutions put in the meantime? Is there a way to remove the playback synchronization of a certain episode or movie in infuse or plex options?

Not sure why they make it seem like this is difficult to do. If they don’t know how to do it properly like the pre-installed Apple TV apps, that’s fine…they could at least copy amazon’s “Prime Video” app and ask “who’s watching” when you launch the app.

Dear developers,
I and many other users of Infuse Community have been waiting for a base function for a video player for years.
Since 2016 almost nothing has been done in this direction and mainly just ignored.
This feature I expected immediately with 8.0 update, but we only got a UI update that nobody wanted anyway, because the old one is already good enough.
It would be nice if the developers didn’t ignore the community and do what the community would have liked.
I’m already regretting that I bought a lifetime version of Infuse.
It’s disappointing.

This is the biggest issue with Infuse too. It plays high-quality video on the ATV correctly but I can’t use it with my kids without profile support, so we mostly use Plex. Occasionally I can use it myself but that’s a hard call to keep the subscription.

It’s getting close to 10 Years since this originally was requested and we still have no progress or hint the developers are thinking of adding this.
Yet we’re getting visionOS updates and new features regularly which only benefit the minority.
This is a crucial feature in e v e r y other streaming app yet infuse still doesn’t have it.
I appreciate all the work that goes into the app, but these small features would have a big impact on the community.

Yeah at this point it doesn’t make sense to keep using Infuse when Plex does this plus most other top suggestions. This has a nice UI but for families with a huge library this is absolutely needed and looks like it’s not happening any time soon which is unfortunate. Probably gonna be my last year subscribing unless there are big changes.
We have no plans on owning a Vision Pro for what it’s worth. The push for that platform makes no sense right now.

Well it is (still) tagged as planned and it appeared briefly on the Upcoming Features list last year for 8.0.
I bet they ran into some roadblocks. If they weren’t thinking about it, they’d tagged as “postponed”.

I just got the app and signed up for pro, but between this and the lack of sso/quickconnect support on Jellyfin I can’t really use it. I was willing to download some shows and stream them locally rather than using my server connection, but I can’t get by without profiles so my kids only see appropriate content.
Something more specific than “planned” would be nice given how long this request has been around and how popular it is.
