First off, I think the idea of putting the survey up shows that the team are finally looking into this much requested feature. Big kudos for that!!
For me, my needs are “simple”. I have a family of four. Each one watches their own shows, movies on I-pads, Tv etc. I have one NAS / Media source. So to be able to have each family member to be able to have their own library from one shared media source is my big win. As mentioned by a ton of people, they should have their own watching now and watched status. This would finally allow me to stop using Plex apps and to have a native Infuse installation.
tvOS 26 will introduce the ability to log into profiles upon startup. Currently still in a developer beta phase.. I believe the first public beta is around August.

Would be nice to have the option of a Master settings where You could allow everyone access to folders you have but then have the ability to lock down content based on age for each user.
I imagine Apple Profiles will require purchase sharing which means I have to share my credit card with family members. I understand why Apple does it this way but there isn’t a world that exists where I’d ever want to do this. And Trakt has gone down the
You have to enable purchase sharing, and then your primary card is shared with the rest of the family group.
There is a way to enable a setting that makes it so minors have to ask to buy, but I am still not comfortable sharing my card with adults and it also means kids cannot download new apps without parental consent every time because it’s basically a $0.00 purchase each time.
Edit: Family Sharing and Purchase Sharing are different. You have to enable purchase sharing to share infuse.
It appears that you can turn off purchase sharing and just share subscriptions and the other members would be responsible for their own payments for other purchases.
Per the page you linked to above:
When purchase sharing is turned off, you stop sharing your purchases and lose access to the purchases made by your other family members. However, you can continue to share subscriptions like Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade, but everyone must use their own payment method for purchases.
Yes, you can share Apple subscriptions with just family sharing; not your Infuse subscription (or lifetime purchase) as per the Infuse documentation I linked above.
Which means if we use Apple profiles, you’ll have to purchase Infuse for every member of your family if you don’t want to enable purchase sharing.
This is my original concern that seems to have been derailed.
I have an Infuse subscription which is shared with my family. Trust me, I’ve been using it for ages and my family members have all the same features I do. My card is not shared with them.
Then both the apple and infuse documentation is wrong. It is clearly written. Not sure why my previous comment with those links was flagged as inappropriate.

I just double checked. Family sharing is enabled. Purchase sharing is disabled.
Restoring pro does not work. So there is either a discrepancy between the subscription and lifetime purchases (I have lifetime) or you are sharing it via Trakt.
The Apple and Infuse documentation both seem correct based on the behavior that I am seeing. You seem to be the only one that claims this and there are other posts of people running into issues which was why Infuse made documentation on how to share; which states purchase sharing as a requirement.
@james can you please clarify that the Infuse documentation is correct: Both family sharing AND purchase sharing must be enabled to share the Infuse subscription? Alternatively it can be done using Trakt as well.
My concern stems from the primary payment method being shared with all family members when purchase sharing is enabled.
All I want is an easy way to swap between kids and non-kids profiles. Because they have different viewing habits.
For example:
Kids content tends to be re-watched many times, and half-watched episodes litter the library.
Non-kids content tends to be new release movies and TV shows that me and my wife watch once and done.
For Kids content, I only want G and PG content on the library and Infuse home screen. Spoilers don’t need to be hidden. And I don’t need to be asked to resume Bluey episodes every 7 minutes, even though we’ve actually seen them hundred times before.
For non-kids content. I’d like to maintain spoilers for unwatched episodes, and to be asked to resume.
So whatever can make that happen gets a thumbs up from me.
I have purchased and rented this software for many years and am about to give up on it due to this missing option. I feel we are seen as cash cows with mainly small incremental updates to try and justify the ongoing expense, while the bigger requested features often do not happen…Almost 9 years and nothing, I originally wanted user profiles for my children that are now adults
