“Movies” vs. “Other” In iOS?

Apologies if this is basic, but I’m stuck as to how files are differentiated by type.

I have roughly 250 movies that I have stored on my NAS, but in my iOS UI the majority of them are under the “Other” category/tab, while only 20 or so are under “Movies.”

As of yet I can’t determine what information is being used to pull the files down as such.

The way you name the files has a lot to do with how it gets catagorized. There is a user guide here that may help. Metadata 101 – Firecore

Thanks. Near as I can tell I’m abiding by the naming conventions / folder organization method, though.

If you give an exact example of one movie that is showing as “other” I’ll see if I can help figure it out.
