MKV file is not showing up (using the Pro version)

The seemingly undamaged files which are playable by VLC are not showing up with Infuse Pro (I’ve gone “pro” just to be able to watch them in particular). Here’s the MediaInfo information, which I’ve purchased too, trying to get the issue nailed. Any help please?

What do you mean by not showing up?

Not playing but visible in the favorite? Not visible in the Library or Favorite?

Do any other files show up and play in Infuse?

Just to clarify, you are using the most current paid version of Infuse Pro 5 correct?

oh thanks for replying!

  • I don't see the file in the list / library neither in movies, nor in TV shows (even after restarting the Apple TV), I do see other movies from the same directories' subtree
  • I've installed Infuse (not Pro) and purchased monthly subscription 2 days ago to watch this file :)

I’ll happily answer more questions

Is it by any chance in “Library” Others?

Also, are you by chance connected via DLNA?

Nope, it’s empty (as TV shows is)

hope not  how can I check it?

Settings > Network > Shares> > Saved Shares > Select share where problem file is > Click on Edit Share > Protocol

Oh, that’ve actually helped! I had a bunch of shares of all kinds: SFTP, Plex, SMB and UPnP/DLNA. I’ve removed them all, defined the new share (SMB) and… voila! I see my file in the TV Shows! I can also see the VIDEO_TS/VOB files from the DVD rips I couldn’t see before, wow! Actually, for the paid version, I’d like to see the VOBs organized in a nicer way.

Do I still need the paid version to watch the MKV file? To watch DVD/BlueRay rips? Just asking as the benefits were not deeply explained in the links I’ve found.

THANKS A LOT for your help AGAIN!

. Although there are other differences only the Pro version includes support for Dolby based audio which is common on films.

and it’s nice to give support to someone who’s charging a reasonable price if you are using his product. I think I’ll just keep the subscription for a while

I have stereo only (albeit a with a pretty nice pair of monitors), so no Dolby I’m afraid

The Pro version is required to play AC3 audio … and your mediainfo dump shows your problem film uses AC3; So you do need the Pro version to play it.

I suspect many of your other media files are the same.

oh thanks! if so, I’ll cancel the monthly subscription and will buy Infuse Pro (for some reason it’s cheaper than “forever” subscription in Infuse-not-pro), probably because of the Apple Store commission.

this forum is really supportive! I just think it would be helpful to clarify the pro vs non-pro differences somewhere on the site once and forever.

Please note that buying the Pro version (ratherthan going the subscription route) means you have to pay again when inFuse v6 comes out. The subscription options include updates to new versionssuch as v6 and beyond.

Oh that’s good to know, I’ll stay with my subscription. But… I think that this valuable info should be shared openly somewhere on Infuse site.
Thanks!

It is.
