Missing Apple TV menu items

Turned on my Apple TV tonight to see this strange sight:

Restarting low tide didn’t fix this problem, only a complete power reset (thus necessitating Seas0nPass to boot tethered).

Hmm - it looks like the internet connection may have dropped off.

Are you using wifi or ethernet?

Ethernet.

What region is iTunes set to in the settings?

The default region I suppose, since I didn’t change any of those settings. I submitted a diagnostic report earlier today in connection to a bug report I submitted this morning: http://support.firecore.com/requests/30700 so you might find this information there.

Check your network settings, the IP should start with 192.168.X.XXX

This happened to me tonight for the second time in 3 weeks.  I didn’t adjust any settings, it just went offline while watching Netflix.  I’m not sure what I did to fix it last time.

It seems like an internet problem as my phone can not connect to Apple TV and I have no airplay at all.

Were you able to resolve this?  What is the cause?

My IP address is DCHP 169.254.XXXXX

An IP address in the 169.254.x.x range means that the ATV2 has not been able to get an address from your router and has allocated a random fallback address which would explain why the network is not working (although it does not explain why you did not get an address from the router).   You may need to redo the network settings on the ATV2.  If that does not work it is always possible a fault has developed in the network hardware.
