Metadata is okay for the season, not for the series

Hey everyone, I’m posting with a problem. My Infuse Pro 8.3.5 isn’t displaying the series itself as an image, but the individual seasons are recognized without any issues. This only happens with some series; most are recognized, but the missing ones are really bothering me. I’m using an Apple TV 4K and only TMDB; I’m not using local metadata.

Can you provide a screen cap of the file structure and file names for one of the series that isn’t working correctly?

Most of the time is an inconsistency in the directory naming and file naming that causes the missing graphics.

Thank you for your reply. The display of the individual seasons is perfectly fine. It’s only a problem with some; others are completely normal.

As a beginner, I’m unfortunately only allowed to post one picture, so here’s another one.

It looks like you may have your season folders named “S01” and that could be one issue. Also adding the year to the series name will also help in matching and displaying the correct metadata.

This directory structure and naming format will display all artwork and metadata in infuse.

Follow this for all seasons and episodes. I just shows a few episodes for the first few seasons.

Also note that you can have any desired additional information like episode name in the episode file name after the “S0xE0x” Like

“Castle 2009 S01E01 The first episode.mkv”

Thank you so much for your help! I was able to heal Castle and a few others thanks to your tip. But some are still refusing, even though I think I did everything right. It would be great if you could help me some more.

Sure, no problem! Try adding the year 2020 to the series directory. Since you have it on the individual episodes it helps to have the year also in the directory name for that series.

Thank you so much for your help. I’ve changed all the names now; it’s a good thing I discovered PowerRename, otherwise it would have been a lot more work. Now I just have one small problem: how can I fix the sorting? I’m seeing two A-Z sort lists. When one is finished, the second one starts. It’s just a minor cosmetic issue, but it’s still bothering me.

What screen(s) are you seeing this on? I see in your pic it has both TV series as well as movies.

I only have one screen for it. It’s always mixed up for me. I’ve changed the sorting back and forth a few times now, and it’s been working since. Thank you so much for your help!

Which screen in Infuse is this?

Also, what do you have in Infuse settings for “Sort Order”?

This is the screen that appears when I select my favorites on the home screen. I’ve attached a picture of the settings. It still works perfectly; I don’t know what the problem was, but never mind.

Just to make sure I understand and don’t leave ya hanging, you’re not seeing two A-Z sort lists anymore?

yes, just one list now. Sorry for the misunderstanding, my english is not the best. Everything is perfect now. Happy new year.

It’s WAY better than my [insert any other language here] ! LOL

Glad it’s all working for you and have a safe and happy new year too! :+1:
