Hi team, I am getting this discrepancy in the metadata, can anyone diagnose this problem and a possible fix ?
This is WebDAV added file through DMM
I’d suggest you add the year to the show folder directory like,
Law and Order 1990
And add the year to the episode names like,
Law and order 1990 S23E01.mkv
Thanks, and how do I do that ?…because it’s playing the right show, it’s the metadata that’s weird
edit metadata and select the right one.
Scratch that, seen it …thanks
The reason you should use the year in the show name is there is another show with the same name but started in 1988 so Infuse picked the metadata from the 1988 one instead of the one you wanted that started in 1990.
While the edit metadata usually works it’s best to name the files with the year and then you wouldn’t have to do the edit.
That’s a function in DMM that may be missing but the bottom line is that with the year in the file name you’d not have the issue.
Agreed, I have set metadata to original under language settings, hope that can make a difference
Infuse uses the top result as provided by TMDB, and as of today the top result is the Chinese series you are seeing info for in Infuse.
This sorting algorithm does change over time, so the auto-match you see today may not be the same as the one you see 6 months from now.
Using the Edit Metadata feature in Infuse will allow you to pick the correct series name without having to add the year to the filename. For TV series, this only needs to be done for a single episode and Infuse will automatically apply that selection to all other seasons and episodes from the same series.
