I downloaded a tv series to my hard drive that I had 3 years ago but deleted.
The series is marked as watched, shouldn’t it appear as unwatched since it’s been 3 years.
How long does infuse retain memory of watched shows?
To test this I added a new show and it appeared as unwatched, and then added another series that I watched years ago and this appeared as watched.

Do you by chance use Trakt?
There is no logic in place to remove watched history for items that have been moved or deleted on the server. There are quite a few scenarios where this would not be ideal.
If you want to fully delete watched history you may consider deleting iCloud data and starting fresh…or you can mark items as unwatched manually in Infuse.

I don’t use Trakt.
I used the mark unwatched feature and everything is fine.
It just surprised me that storage was being wasted somewhere to hold this useless data as infuse runs 24/7 in this household.
Well, Infuse has no way of knowing if the files are actually deleted (never coming back) or temporarily unavailable (EG external drive is disconnected and will be reconnected later) so the watched statuses are retained.
The data used for storing whether a title is watched or not is pretty minuscule so probably not much to worry about.
