Make tvOS have the same UI as visionOS, masOS and iOS

I really love the UI of visionOS, iOS and macOS. It has a minimalist, clean look, with the artwork taking up the whole screen and the logo beautifully positioned above the buttons! It´s gorgeous!

And then there´s the tvOS:

It looks nothing like the rest of the other OSs, it doesn’t feel like it´s Infuse at all.
It looks so busy, so disorganised with all those letters in the middle of the artwork…

Why is the tvOS so different from the rest? And yes, we can switch back to Modern on tvOS but Modern still has the redundancy of having the logo in one corner of the image and the same title in white letters below, which makes no sense, looks bad and has not been fixed with Infuse 8.

Wouldn’t it be possible for tvOS to have the same look as visionOS?

I concur. Even the left side menu should be on tvOS in some form. I would assume the DX overhead would be less as well.

I disagree, and actually wish macOS and iPadOS were more like the AppleTV app. There’s a lot of wasted space on really large screens.

If I could make one request, it’d be to grayscale the icons for Trakt and TMDB — the colours conflict with the artwork. I’d also blur the background behind the 7 buttons; seeing the background in the button is fairly distracting, and isn’t the best from an accessibility perspective.

I don’t think the tvOS interface should be the same as the other OS, because it should follow the 10-foot user interface rule.

Covering the artwork is the issue. Most people want to see the artwork. Much more of an issue than the colored icons for most.

That said, at least we can select the ‘Modern’ option in settings on tvOS to get it closer to the visionOS layout.

Bottom aligned in a row vs left aligned in a column both can still fit that rule.

Here is a mockup I did in the past to illustrate some options.

Most artwork has a “bleed” area to allow text and other items to overlap. Having said that, really like that mockup themcbrooms did.

I appreciate that they kept the Modern option for those who prefer it over New, but they could have at least fixed the logo issue in Modern.
