Mac mini streaming server

I’m looking to replace the laptop I currently use as the server for Plex/infuse and I’m looking at used Mac mini’s. But I don’t know what models are capable of streaming 50-100gb H.265 4K HDR content. Does anyone know if an old 2012 Mac mini is capable of that? and if it has to be an i3, i5, or i7? I just have no idea what hardware is capable of what. Thanks in advance for the help.

I don’t know about Plex but I’ve used a plain vanilla 2011 iMac as a server with a couple of external drives as a server for Infuse and it worked fine for everyting I threw at it. The usual culpret in streaming problems is the network so as long as you have a solid Ethernet connection or a REALLY solid WiFi connection you should be good to go.

I’d personally go for the newest/most powerful mini you can afford just to future proof it as much as possible but let the deal be the determining factor.
