It has been a while since anyone has commented on this suggestion thread. Just thought I’d wake it up. This is the third most liked suggestion in the Suggestions category of the Community, and the two suggestions above it have statuses of “Planned” and “Postponed”. Is there even a slight chance this will ever be considered after all of this time (9 years!)?
It seems most people want full IPTV playlist support. In my use case, I would love it if the Infuse player simply knew how to handle playback of HLS .m3u8 files from my NAS, specifically files that are still growing.
I handle all TV and media watching tech and services for my parents. Infuse, on Apple TV, is great for the playback of all of the movies and TV shows we have in our library. My parents navigate Infuse without any issues. But, we are also a sports family, and it would just make so much sense if my parents could use the video player they are familiar with to watch the sports I record for them/us. My other option is using Channels DVR, but I think it is too cluttered and busy for my parents.
I record IPTV streams in the background, via a script, and save the files on our NAS. It would be amazing if Infuse knew how to play those files, as they are still recording, by auto-extending the timeline and allowing for “chase-play” without running into EOF issues.
Infuse has their own player right? Would Apple’s native player be able to handle this? That is my understanding, but maybe I am wrong. Has anyone figured this out?
I only recommend the software aptv for IPTV applications. It’s a professional tool designed specifically for playing IPTV, affordable in price, and includes full Apple device support. I’ve always believed that Infuse is a media player, and it should focus on its core strengths; blindly adding IPTV features will only delay the implementation of more useful function suggestions.
Support for m3u playlists and IPTV is now the second most popular suggestion for features that still need to be added (fourth overall among all requested features).
Like many others have said, adding support for m3u playlists or live TV channels from Plex/Jellyfin/Emby would really take Infuse to the next level. It would mean we wouldn’t need a separate app just to watch live TV.
Can we get a comment from the team on whether this feature is on the table? If it is, we can stop asking. If not, we can wrap up this thread and move on.
Really hope it will be added. However, looking at how old this topic is, I am afraid it’s not going to happen.
In the meantime just use UHF. It feels like an app firecore would have made.
Thanks for the suggestion, but frankly, that sounds like an insult, lol. UHF has a terrible UI and doesn’t feel like an Apple-like app at all.
Plus, I’d prefer having everything inside one app, like probably most of us who commented in this thread over the last few years.
Look like james will support this function, maybe we can watch dolby Vision World Cup at infuse

I will have to respectfully disagree. I’ve been loving UHF and wouldn’t care if Firecore made one anymore, I’m now a loyal UHF user. It definitely wasn’t an insult, people will have different opinions about things and now I kind of understand why Firecore hasn’t done one yet.
