Using Infuse to play Atmos content on HomePods sound very quiet. They used to work fine but now they have no oomph to them at all.
I tested a movie I own on Apple and a version on Infuse and both are Atmos (DD+) and infuse sounds noticeably less impactful and quieter. I’ve also played the same content on infuse and Stremio through my LG tv and the HomePods are so much louder and better on the LG app. This never used to be the case. Is this a recent bug? As it puts me off using infuse as it doesn’t sound great. Thanks.
Is this not effecting anyone?
Was trying to watch a well known show about dragons and the sound was quiet and really not dynamic. Sounded great through Stremio on my LG then out to the HomePods.
If you’re seeing issues with specific video file and are able to send in a sample we can look into this.
It’s with all Atmos (DD+) content. It’s so quiet. All other formats seem correct. But any film or movie I put through infuse in Atmos (DD+) sounds very quiet.
Seems this has been happening a while?
Maybe Infuses HomePod integration has an issue?
A post was merged into an existing topic: Playback for files with dolby atmos 5.1 no longer works
Why has this been merged as it’s not the same thing? I’m not using a MacBook. I’m using my Apple TV with HomePod Home Cinema
It wasn’t merged. It was separated from this thread since it’s different issues.
Sorry I’m confused as I created a new topic for this so I don’t know why it would have needed to split? It’s still an issue though
This is still an issue.
I’ve been watching a few Atmos (DD+) films over the past week and it’s so quiet and less dynamic than if i play the movies through stremio through eARC to the HomePods.
Not to mention the iTunes content I’ve bought and Disney+, Netflix all sound fine. There’s definitely an issue with the way infuse is handling Atmos with the HomePods. Even if I play the same movie that I’ve bought through iTunes and on infuse, infuse sounds miles quieter and less punchy. It’s disappointing as I have to use the LG apps and I pay for yours. It doesn’t matter what Atmos content I use so it should be the same no matter what you test it with and I’ve reset the HomePods, reset the Apple TV, deleted your app and reinstalled, tried the beta, it’s the same.
I’m having the same problem.
I noticed the same right now while watching Quiet Place Day One. ATV connected to Denon X3800H. DD+ with Atmos is really quiet. Switching to german DD+ without Atmos and the volume is back to normal.
Nvidia Shield with Plex app does not have this issue.
I’m also seeing this, or something very similar. The problem is mostly manifested for me with files with 6+ channels. That means that the central channel with the voice and LR are lower volume than the what perceivably are SFX, although I don’t know where those are situated channel wise. That means whenever a sound effect comes through you will get a nose bleed, while any other time, like dialogue, you will struggle to hear what’s said. I also believe this is somehow tied to downsampling, since I am using a stereo output.
I’ve been doing some more digging and testing and infuse seems to make everything quieter and I’m not sure why. Even stereo or Dolby digital plus. It all sounds weaker than the other apps on my Apple TV and LG tv
Same issue here. Anyone have any luck with this?
Please, developers, add a toggle to disable Dolby Atmos, just like the one we have for Dolby Vision. It would give us the freedom to switch it off if we run into any issues or limitations, so we don’t have to deal with problems during playback. — For example, volume boost doesn’t work with Atmos, and some titles really need that extra boost. While tvOS has an option to disable Atmos, it only works for TVs and doesn’t apply to devices like AirPods.
It would be such a helpful feature for users who want more control over their viewing experience!
I had this issue as well and thought it was just me or something up with the file.
Having the same issue as well. I noticed it with A Quite Place Day One as Lors mentioned previously, and now having the same issue watching The Crow. Seems to be only happening with certain Atmos films. What’s going on?
I’ve submitted a diagnostic for this. Y6PKG
Chiming in again on this. Noticed videos with AAC 2.0 audio are also really low in volume. What’s the deal with this?
Any updates on this? Still seems very quiet.
