I recently decided to make more use of my black ATV (as opposed to my silver ATV) and finally jailbroke it and added ATVFlash. I have Apple TV Software version 4.3 (2557) and ATVFlash version 1.2
I am getting network disconnects while I watch programs (movies or TV); this is true whether the movie is streamed normally from iTunes or from the hard disk connected to my Mac Mini thru my network to the Media menu. I suspect that this is an AFP problem. Sometimes it is just a matter of waiting a few seconds and restarting the program and sometimes the problem lasts much longer requiring restarts of both the ATV and my Mac Mini.
This sometimes manifests itself in my Mac Mini (running iTunes with Home Sharing turned on) not showing in the Computers menu.
I should probably update the ATV to the latest iOS. How do I do this properly? Should I do a Restore in the General/Reset Menu, then Update Software and then jailbreak again and reinstall ATVFlash; or is there an easier way to update the iOS? Thanks!
I would appreciate at least a reply to point 2 above; repeated here:

James, I’ve got a support ticket open simular to the process you describe. All i need to know is do I upgrade to the latest version of iTunes on my PC as point number 1, then follow the rest of the steps?
Have you tried re-downloading SeasonPass and retrying the whole jailbreak?
It is not clear from your description whether you did the jailbreak successfully, but using an old version of SeaonPass so that you got a tethered version of the jailbreak, or whether the jailbreak process failed for you?
Using the Firecore link, it is supposed to download the most recent version of Seasonpass, which I installed untethered. I did not try anything again, as I was hoping for instruction before attempting anything more.
What you’re describing sounds like the result of a ‘tethered’ jailbreak, which may mean you’re using an older version of Seas0nPass. Which version of Seas0nPass are you using?
