Looping On Apple TV

Hi! Potential customer here.

I came from Nvidia Shield, decided to move to the Apple ecosystem where everything is 99% perfect for me, except the Apple TV which left me appalled at the lack of “repeat one/repeat all”, also known as “loop video”, so I can for example load a short fireplace video and enable “loop”/“repeat one” which means the video plays indefinitely until I stop it. I can’t find a single video player app on the Apple TV that offers this!!! It’s making me think it’s from lack of a system API? But surely an application developer could just code such a feature into their app separately rather than relying on Apple to provide an API for it?

If you can release this on your next update, I will purchase your app immediately and recommend to several friends who have the same frustration I’m documenting here.

Can you make it happen? Please make it happen! This is such a basic playback function, it shocks me that a company like Apple would not provide an API for that. Even more shocking is how apps like Plex on the Shield have this, but Plex on the Apple TV does not… Your app would be like the only major app that could achieve this if you listened to this request and built it into your next update.

This is currently available!

Just highlight a folder, category, series, etc… and hold down the play/pause button.

Sir, you minsunderstood. I don’t want to do this to a playlist or multiple items… I want this on the player controls. Near the play/pause/skip buttons… or at least in a menu while the media is playing… all the examples you provided require a set of items. I am talking about opening one video, and then on the player screen having a button lke the play/pause where I can just activate or deactivate. In Plex on the Shield it’s a menu I have to open and then set in the playback options, but again that’s within the media player itself while it’s playing the single item. Thanks.

Long press on the play button of the video you want to loop
