Infuse (v. 8.5.3(5741)) on an AppleTV.
I’m starting to explore logos and fanart, but I can’t seem to get the background image (fanart, or to use the Jellyfin term, “backdrop”) and logo to appear correctly when looking at the video details screen for a given video file (the screen from which you select to actually play the file). I do have the poster on the right side of the screen, which I don’t see in most of the other screenshots from other users.
I’m using a file share server (Synology - SMB), so I’m not using Jellyfin or anything for this connection. Not sure it matters, but I use iTunes to tag new files and include the poster before importing to the file share.
The Issue: What I’m seeing
On a given video details screen, I have the poster on the right side of the screen, and the background image is incredibly blurry. I’ve confirmed it is pulling the fanart file when available. I started with a video file that did not have the fanart, noted the background which was dark, added a fanart image that was predominantly white, and now the video details background is predominantly white. This confirms the naming convention and access, but the image is extremely blurry, and the logo does not show up at all. The title is just the text pulled from the embedded metadata in the video file.

- Metadata Fetching: off
- Prefer Embedded Artwork: off
- Prefer Local Artwork: on
- Prefer Local Metadata: on
- Show Logos: on
- Show External Ratings: off
What I’ve tried
- I’ve confirmed I’m using the right naming conventions as indicated in the Metadata 101 posting.
- I’m using images pulled from TMDb, confirming the correct file extensions (.png with a clear background for logo, .jpg for fanart/backdrop image)
- I’ve dumped the metadata and reloaded.
- I switched to a Pro subscription.
I’m interested in any assistance for enhancing the video details screen to show the logo and fanart/backdrop images correctly. Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere, or is this just how the SMB interface is and there’s no changing it? Maybe something else?
