Hi! I recently changed a lot of my TV shows files, from SD to HD and 5.1 sound. Library update doesn’t pick the change in files and still depicts the metadata as 360p etc… Is there any fast way to update the files with the new metadata instead of editing metadata on like 500 episode files individually? Thanks in advance!
Clear all your metadata and rebuild the library from scratch. It’s the fastest way.
Just curious, if you start to play one of the TV shows that isn’t showing the new technical metadata and then stop it and go back to the favorite does it change to the correct new tech metadata?
Nope there is no change in the file’s metadata even after playing it. I wouldn’t like to build my library all over again when I make changes like that tbh, it’s OK with movies cause it’s only one file but with tv shows is a pain…
okie dokie then movie lover has the correct answer to correct things.
I tried removing one show, scan the library for changes (Infuse indeed removed the show from the library), I then restored the show to the normal path in my HDD, did another library scan and Infuse restored it but with the previous metadata on still. I just wish there was a “Clean library” function or the automatic library scan of Infuse could do that.
What about under settings in Infuse the option to “Clear All Metadata”?
This will wipe all my library and rescan it from the beginning. I got almost 120 terabytes of data, I cannot do this procedure every time I change something tbh, takes too much, whereas a Clean Library function like in LibreElec or OpenElec let’s say, would just remove from my library only the missing files and rescan them from the beginning with new metadata if I inserted them again.
The file specs are cached in Infuse, and won’t be updated unless you use the Edit option for a particular file/series (or use the Clear All Metadata) option.
In the future, if you plan to replace a lot of your files with different versions, a more efficient way would be to give the new file a slightly different name (EG Awesome-movie-1080p.mkv) and then just delete the old file. Doing this will allow Infuse to pick up the new file (with correct specs) and automatically remove the old file.
