LFE Subwoofer Down-mixing now Broken since 8.2 Infuse !?

LFE Broken Subwoofer Down-mixing now Broken since IOS 18.6 or 8.2 Infuse ?

Missing a lot of base sound now always testing it with star was pod race episode 1 so i know for sure its my benchmark. noticed lfe is gone :frowning:

update: i tried the non ios updated apple tv from downstairs on 18.5 so must have been one of these latest infuse updates and not the ios 18.6 update. still no LFE :frowning: movies sound so dull now is there anyway to roll back to older infuse ?

Do these videos have multiple audio tracks?

Common tools like Handbrake can add a 2.0 stereo track (tagged as default) and a secondary multichannel track. If you happen to be playing the 2.0 track then there wouldn’t be an LFE channel to mix in to the mix.

You can switch between audio tracks during playback through the Audio section of the Playback Settings menu.

no i am sure what i am doing  its the same movie i always use for this test.
LFE is not working anymore

It may help if you run that video through mediainfo and post the results here.

i will do that later. but none else has reported anything like this ?

Not that I’ve seen. Could you also go to settings and verify you running the pro version?

yes i have the pro and tried to reactivate its still the same.
i don’t think many people will notice they fast until they know some movies and effects real well

Are you able to restore it? Does it say “Infuse PRO” on the settings screen?

yes it does say infuse pro
turning on and off lfe doesn’t help either the LFE just doesn’t seem to work like it used to did. and i already tried a 2nd apple tv i had running 18.5 and 18.6. must bij something with infuse.

still works fine on my windows pc when i watch the same movie
and you don’t wanna know what pain it is to get LFE to work on windows

Yes and i have two identical yamaha hs8’s + HS8S SUB in the same room :stuck_out_tongue:
and on the apple tv they have always been connected via airplay with the belkin adapter(which is always on the same software never updated) .

is there anyway i can install an infuse from a few versions back ?

It still may help to run that video through mediainfo and post the results here.

i know i an not wrong about this  it was always working and now it isn’t i bought the program lol

its the same with other releases and remuxes i have of the same movie. it used to be fine but now its broken could i get access to older version somehow. don’t know exactly when this started which version of infuse but i guess recent

And ofc its not only, not working with this movie
it must be with everything, but i know this one too well, where and how it suppose to sound.

I’ve seen the setting for LFE remix into stereo downmix. I’m curious though, is there any reason to test this feature on a native 5.1.2 system? I have two Atmos compatible sound bars. 1 is the Vizio M series M51ax-J6 with virtual height, and the latest Generation of the ONN 5.1.2 sound bar with two physical height speakers. Both have rear speakers and a Subwoofer.

I’ve never had any issues with not getting bass. I haven’t used Infuse in a while either. I typically use Plex because it’s cross platform, and I have a lifetime Plex pass. Had it since 2016.

i have a 2.1 setup with no separate subwoofer channel so yes i need the LFE downmix otherwise i am missing the subwoofer track. Are the devs looking into this problem ?

I didn’t even know there was a problem. This thread showed up in the Firecore summary emails I receive. I only replied because I wasn’t sure if this feature would apply to me since I have a 5.1.2 setup. I was going to test it to see if there was any issues here.

The LFE downmix option is available when Infuse is set to output 2.0 stereo. A 2.1 setup will actually consist of a Left and Right speaker plus a subwoofer. If you have this setup but happen to have the sub disconnected it still may cause the Apple TV to send a multichannel audio signal (as devices like the Apple TV are not able to detect if a specific speaker is actually connected or not).

However, you can force the Apple TV to output 2.0 stereo by adjusting the ‘Change Format’ option in Apple TV Settings > Video and Audio > Audio Format menu and set the format to ‘Stereo’.

The setting would not apply if you are have a 5.1.2 system connected, so it can be on or off.

Wonder if this is related to the thread I just opened…

its a 2.0 setup connected as 2.0 with a sub.
yes i already have it forced as stereo there too.

it was always working now it isn’t
