Late Night TV Shows Do Not Get Sorted Correctly

I’m having a really weird issue where Late Night TV shows do not show up in TV, but are thrown into the “Other” folder. When I search to grab the metadata from the database, these shows don’t even show up, but they do when I look at the database online. Shows like Conan, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and The Tonight Show all get thrown into the “Other” folder and I can’t figure it out for the life of me. Any suggestions?

Could you provide a copy and paste of some of the file names you’re having the issues with? Usually it’s a naming issue that caused it to end up in the “others”.

See some examples below:

Conan.2017.07.11.Aidy.Bryant.720p.HDTV.x264-CROOKS
Stephen.Colbert.2017.07.24.Paul.Bettany.720p.WEB.x264-TBS

The thing that’s odd is that I can’t even search for the correct metadata within the Infuse app on Apple TV. The late night shows do not show up at all.

It appears that the file name is what’s causing you problems. First, when you follow a name with the year like in “Conan.2017” the database looks at it as a movie with the year released.

For your first example try “Conan.S07E105.Aidy.Bryant.720p.HDTV.x264-CROOKS.ext” without the quotes and with the correct extension.

For the second try “The.Late.Show.with.Stephen.ColbertS02E187.Paul.Bettany.720p.WEB.x264-TBS.ext” also without the quotes and with the correct extension.

You can find the correct season and episode numbers on thetvdb.com to help in the naming of your episodes.
For example Conan here http://thetvdb.com/?tab=seasonall&id=194751&lid=11

Stephen Colbert here http://thetvdb.com/?tab=seasonall&id=289574&lid=7

Also there are several on line tv guides that list season and episode numbers.
