as far as I understand it, the ratings from sites like Trakt, themoviedb, Metacritics, … get added at the time of indexing but then aren’t updated later on. Not really a problem with old content that’s added since those ratings won’t change much but with brand new content it does and often there aren’t enough reviews yet.
Trakt and Metacritic ratings are ‘lazy-loaded’ when opening the details page and these will be cached on device for 7 days. Once they become ‘stale’ they will be refetched when opening the details page again.
If you want to update details from TMDB you can use the ‘Refresh Metadata’ option found in Infuse > Settings > Library. This would pull down updated metadata and artwork from TMDB.
In the past, Infuse would pull down TMDB updates automatically on a regular basis but the number of daily changes on TMDB has gotten so incredibly massive this was becoming a performance bottleneck for library scanning so it was removed.
@james so every week all metadata gets updated but only once I open the detail page of an item?
I never dare to press ‘Refresh Metadata’ as I have 50k+ items in my library and I know how long that takes when I setup a new device. It would be nice to be able to update info more selectively.
