Just making sure I understand DV, Streaming and Disc Remuxes

DV Web File - DV playback and Atmos

DV Bluray - HDR10 playback from that layer because the profiles are not supported in the AppleTV?

I’m not too worried about it playing the HDR10 layer, as HDR10 is just fine, as long as there aren’t any bugs there. So, other than not getting DV from a UHD Disc, and only HDR10, are there any other issues I should be aware of?

Here you can learn about the audio features of Apple TV 4K. Pay attention to the audio processing for Dolby Atmos TrueHD.

As for Dolby Vision. Currently, AppleTV only supports profiles 5 and 8 of DV. Profile 7, which is used on BluRay Discs, is not supported and will not be played.

^ This is correct, but I will clarify a few things.

Profile 5 and 8 can be played in full Dolby Vision on most recent Apple devices.

Profile 7 videos will be played in HDR, as Apple does not currently support the Dolby Vision content contained in this profile.

For devices that do not support Dolby Vision or HDR, Infuse can use tone-mapping so the colors appear correct. This can help when playing these videos on older Apple devices, or when connected to TVs that do not support Dolby Vision or HDR.

Thanks. DV vs HDR10 doesnt matter much to me, honestly. Since it will properly default to the HDR10 layer, I am OK with that!
