Jailbreak stalls at "iTunes restore script successful!"

iTunes is up to date and ATV2 is 5.0.2.  I download most recent version of SeasonPass and run it.  It does its thing and I hold menu and play/pause to enter DFU mode, which appears to work (although I do have to plug in power cord to ATV2 for it to start.  No power cord and nothing happens).  iTunes opens, a few screens pop up and minimize and then it all hangs.  The SeasonPass status screen says “iTunes restore script successful!” with the status bar continually moving across like its thinking and the “Done” button greyed out and unable to push it.   iTunes just sits there showing my ATV2 in the device menu.  But it never goes any further and confirms the restore. I then hit the restore button in iTunes and it just does a factory restore.  I reconnected the ATV2 to my TV and the settings icon does not have the FC on it, so it has not worked.

Any suggestions?

You should be able to use SHIFT-Restore in iTunes to get a file selection dialog to allow you to select the jailbroken .ipsw file to restore.   Simply pressing the Restore button will always restore standard software.

I’m having this exact same issue with two of my new aTV 2s…

Are you sure they are ATV2’s?    If they are new I would expect them to be ATV3’s (see my sig) as that is what Apple has been selling for the last 6 months.

Same problem here. Once itunes opens it wans me to chose a script and hit done button, only the install is unsuccessful. Have never had problems before.

Shift restore is not giing the option. I had to restore to apple version. Plugged back  in usb to restore again. Option not available.  This is frustrating, never having had problems before.
I’ll try the untethered seasonpass one more time.

OK. Started from the beginning. Reinstalled AppleTV via Itunes from Apple. Restatred seasonpass. This time when it got to iTunes, it did automatically choose the newest Seasonpass file and presto chango, untethered boot completed itself, just like the "old days. I just resinstalled  ATV2 and will proceed to set it up.

After reading a ton of other posts, I figured out I actually have a ATV3 and not an ATV2.  Blah!!!  The main reason I bought it was so I could jailbreak it and watch all my own video files on my iMac.

Yea I didn’t realize that the aTV3 was out for sale and it looked the same as the aTV2.  I guess I’m just gonna need to wait for the new jailbreak…  Thanks guys
