When I rent or purchase a movie from itunes store, where does it get stored on the internal hard drive?
is there a way for me to ftp into the appletv and find the file?

hi if you have the atv registered to the same account as your comp you should be able to sync moviesetc bought from the apple store across to the atv look for the atv in itunes on your comp and see how what your prefs are set as tick the sync movies box or just the ones you want and it should work , at least mine does
if you purchased a movie, it gets synched back to you iTunes library.
Usually its in the iTunes Music/Movies folder
TV-Shows are under iTunes Music/TV Shows
