It does not like years at the end of the filenames

I’ve been using XBMC then PLEX, then to DS video, and now would like to use infuse bacuase it handles the HD content better. However media that just worked on other media players can not be detected correctly vis infuse… and mainly because the year at the end of name like “This movie 2009” needs to be “This movie (2009)” in order to work… why? This is so frustrating I need to go and convert every single movie… not to mention that the standard seen is generally no brackets required…

can this be fixed?

Welcome to the forum!

I don’t have brackets or parentheses around most of the movie years in my library and have no issues. Not sure why you’re seeing problems without them. Can you provide an exact example of one that doesn’t show up without the parentheses?

It looks like there was an error recently and coverart was not loading as the main image, etc (I can see from other threads). I think this was my issue, as renaming files (year) fixed the issue, but the issue was tha everything needed to be reloaded. So I dumped the whole DB and reloaded, fixed. Hopefully that does not happen often.
