so my situation is like this. Basically every evening I watch some shows and setup a sleeptimer.
The result is that during the active playback of an episode, the TV and the Apple TV will be put into standby. The next day I want to continue on my other TV but it seems that the watch status of last active playing episode was not synced.
I cannot tell for sure right now, but I think yes. The thing is, I forget to mention, after an hour or so the TV (and Apple TV) were switched off (or put into sleep), I’ll cut the power (via HomeKit Powerplug).
Infuse does not perform library scanning or syncing operations during playback, as depending on the network environment this could lead to potential issues with playback and/or buffering.
Can this be implemented. Beside my problem described above, this problem is also relevant every, like I always have to stop the current episode (to get into the Infuse homescreen or whereever) to get the current state synced. I can’t just turn off my TV.
i can start playing something, set the ATV sleep timer (which actually puts the ATV into standby).
when i turn the TV back on (because the ATV also turns the TV off as part of the sleep timer via HDMI CEC), infuse is still open but the playback is paused and there is a static image of the content that was playing.
i don’t believe it initiates any pause command to Infuse, but simply the fact that the ATV goes into standby whilst something is playing results in it pausing. it’s no different to you pressing the standby button on the remote.
I’m from the generation that you DON’T hit the power button until you’ve stopped all actions. Kind of like hitting the power button while playing the early VCR tapes. It’d stop alright but when you powered back on the sound of plastic tape wadding up and a very strange picture would ensue.
I’ve not used the sleep timer function just due to the way we watch it’s not needed but I can see how that would affect watching for others.
Strictly a wild guess on my part, but if we can get background app refresh working again it may actually do the icloud sync while in standby. It used to do this quite well but it got hosed up a while back.
We can hope that Infuse gets the background sync working again and this would solve multiple problems.
