Ipad with wireless hard drive

I’ve been searching the forums but I haven’t found the information I’m looking for.

I travel a lot so I’m considering loading all my content onto a wireless hard drive and playing it on my ipad with Infuse. Does this method support all the file formats as it normally would? Mkv/h264 etc

How does the wireless hard drive work, is it a standard network share over samba so it supports everything it normally would? I’ve read some stuff about wireless hard drive only streaming iTunes supported formats.

Is there any brand of wireless hard drives that don’t work with Infuse?

I have a WD Wireless Pro that I take for travel and inFuse works flawlessly with all video formats it supports. I just completed a 2 1/2 week trip and used it everyday with the wireless drive. MKV with DD or DTS wirelessly was no problem at all. The only problem I had was that Trakt didn’t pick up all the shows I watched, but infuse worked great.

Thanks so much! I’ll go and get one and give it a shot!
