Installing xbmc

Hi,

Couple of quick questions.

  1. Is is ok to have the firecore media player installed at the same time as xbmc?

  2. What’s the best way to install xbmc? Frodo is now working with latest atv firmware

Yep. All conflicts with XBMC were resolved a few versions back.

The latest version of XBMC can be added through the Maintenance > Manage Extras menu.

Don’t know why, but installing xbmc hosed the atv2 completely.  Stuck with light blinking at me like recovery mode.

Not to hijack your thread but I can’t get XBMC to install either.

 

I get “installation failed!” after several tries.

Suggest you look at the xbmc ios forum. The following link is a really useful thread

Basically, you just need to use terminal e.g. Putty and input the following:

apt-get update
apt-get install org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2

I’d start with a clean jb’ed atv
