Infuse suddenly completely fails - no library, can’t even back out to home screen

Hi

I’m on tvOS 26.5 (23L471), on an Apple TV 4K, running Infuse 8.4.8

Yesterday, from nowhere Infuse started having trouble - it kept saying it was rebuilding the index but nothing would ever happen. The entire “TV shows” and “now watching” rows were missing. Eventually it started working fine. No idea what was wrong, but it worked so that was fine

Suddenly today, it won’t work at all. I click the icon and the app opens, but it instantly freezes. No library items are displayed. The only thing I can see is the search bubble, the display/refresh/settings icons, and a row titled “Films” but with no images at all.

The cursor can’t be moved. The app is completely unresponsive. I can’t even go back to the Home Screen - right now, I tapped “back” on the remote control 7-8 minutes ago and Infuse is still on the screen.

There are no error messages, no crash reports etc. Because the app freezes immediately I don’t even know if it’s possible to generate logs.

I’ve done the usual - checked connections, confirmed that the media files are all available, rebooted the Apple TV etc. Nothing works.

I really don’t want to have to remove and reinstall Infuse - what are my options and how can I find out what’s gone wrong?

Kind of sounds like the update to 8.4.8 may have been corrupted.

You may want to try deleting the app (not just offload, delete it) and redownload 8.4.8. When you start it after the redownload don’t try to add things back manually, just go to Settings > Library and watch the messages on the left to monitor the icloud reloading things.
