Infuse seems to randomly connect to/start a session on my Jellyfin server when not in use

Hi,

I recently setup a Jellyfin server and various plugins along side notifiarr. I’ve noticed thanks to Notifiarr that Infuse will randomly connect to/start a session on the Jellyfin server when I’m not actively using Infuse.

For example I’ll be watching YouTube on my Apple TV and then I’ll randomly get a notification from notifiarr saying this:

But I have no idea why that’s happening or if it’s intended? Sometimes it says it’s from the Apple TV but I think i’ve also seen it say it’s coming from my iPhone too.

What I do know is it caused me a problem this morning because in Jellyfin I changed my password last night but hadn’t yet updated it in Infuse. So when I woke up this morning I saw I had received this notification at just after 3 in the morning while I was asleep:

This was the result on Infuse randomly trying to connect to the Jellyfin server, failing with the wrong (old) password and then repeatedly trying until it got me locked out. As the only Admin account it was annoying to get myself unlocked.

And just to clarify v10.10.3 is the most up to date version of Jellyfin on the UGREEN NAS that I have it installed on. Or well it was when I went to bed. This morning there is apparently a Jellyfin update available on the NAS. Also the InfuseSync plugin is installed on the server.

So I’m wondering if anyone knows why Infuse randomly connects to the Jellyfin server when not in use and whether or not this is intended behaviour?

Sounds normal. It’s probably the background app refresh. It keeps things current so you don’t have to wait long for updates when using the app.

I see. That makes sense I suppose. I’ll just have to remember that if I ever change my Jellyfin password to update it in infuse then
