Every Infuse 8 Pro search on Mac returns “Nothing Found”, at least on my M3 Mac, but all searches work fine on iPhone and Apple TV versions of Infuse connected to same library.
My media library is Jellyfin 10.9.11, connected via InfuseSync 1.5 and in library mode and Mac is running macOS 15.1. and using Infuse 8, although the problem also existed with infuse 7.8, at least. Library has fully indexed. InfuseSync seems to be working great, updating things as they change on the server.
I’ve tried both library and direct mode. I’ve “Forgotten” the share and reconnected, and issues persist.
Videos all play fine, but just search is useless.
Is this unique to my machine? Is the Mac version broken? Does search not work with Jellyfin based libraries? I assumed library mode meant the search would be local and on device, and that direct mode might pass along the search request to Jellyfin. But, that neither work – that just seems weird. I feel like it’s expected to work because it works fine on other platforms with the same media library and config.
Three things I haven’t tried yet are removing all iCloud Infuse info, nuking the Application Support/Infuse folder, and deleting/reinstalling Infuse – when I try those I’ll update.
I am seeing the same on M1 Mac after reinstalling. It can search my library file shares just not my Emby share. Also the button in the top right to edit the home page is missing
Glad it’s not just me! It works great on all the other platforms I’ve used it on (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV), but it has this one pesky problem with search results on the Mac.
You search as simply as you can, such “a” or “on” letters until the search result shows actors, director information, or anything. It just needs search results. click any result then back.
You will see tab labels on the top bar, the search function works now.
enjoy.
I used the above method to make the search function work, till now it also works in the latest version(8.0.8 5054). The latest version in app store may have the same version as Testflight, it may also work, but I didn’t try.
Maybe you can try this method again, or you can clear the metadata and try once again.
