Infuse Pro on 3 machines - basics don't work - they won't handle my video library and don't share

I’m trying to change to Infuse for viewing my local video library, which means it’s something my wife and I would use daily. I’ve had multiple functional issues and I’ve had some various responses, but, in most cases, I’m still trying to get basic functions to work on my systems. I don’t know if my messages and descriptions of the issues are unclear, or if my posts are just buried under newer posts, or if I’m asking questions that are tough to answer. (One question, for example, was about user profiles, and I got a response - a link to the page on them, but I pointed out that the answer I wanted was not addressed on that page.) (I have multiple reading/learning issues, so I realize I may not have made the issues clear - if so, I’d like help clarifying them.

I’d like to break it down, at this point, to TWO issues that are really making a mess for me because they don’t seem to work, or work on some systems, or are inconsistent. I have multiple Apple TVs in our house and barn (where our workshops/home offices are). Right now I’m testing Infuse on a Mac Mini and on two Apple TVs: ATV1 and ATV2. Both ATVs are set to autoupdate, so they should be on the latest versions of Infuse, and are A1625 32GB models with tvOS 26.6 on them. All 3 instances are logged into Trakt and have iCloud sync enabled.

The first problem is that there is a serious problem with all 3 instances of Infuse registering files for the library. Over the past few days, I’ve ripped and added a few TV shows to the library, but the seem to agree on the total number of files. But Infuse is either not classifying the files or taking forever to do so. For instance, I took this screenshot of the Mac instance early this morning, about 11 hours ago:

(1,566 Movies, 19,846 TV Episodes, 4,166 Other)

Since then, the “Other” category has gone down to 4,162. I’ve left it up and running while doing other things on the computer, so it’s been active for 11 hours, but in that time has only matched 4 files with the appropriate metadata. A few days ago I did have it rescan and update metadata, which took hours (over 3 hours, at least) and it hasn’t helped.

I’ve changed the settings so ATV1 is on all the time, even when not in use, and been keeping Infuse up whenever I’m not using it. Here’s a screenshot from it:

(1,055, 13,355 TV Shows, 11,314 Other)

ATV2 is hooked up to a projector and I had to do some adjusting so I could leave Infuse running as much as possible, but this is what it has:

(0 Movies, 0 TV Shows, over 25,000 Other)

I’ve kept this on for hours and hours every day. It’s apparently scanned all the files in my library, but hasn’t classified ANY. I’ve left it on overnight and it still hasn’t classified a single file as a Movie or TV Show. (Actually overnight at least TWO nights.)

And, related to that, while it doesn’t see any movies or TV shows, it does know that some are watched:

(46 watched episodes, 7 watched shows)

While this is part of the 2nd issue (syncing), what’s odd is that is has the data, apparently, from what I’ve watched on ATV1, but it still doesn’t have any files listed in the library, other than under “Other.”

On this issue, Problem 1, all 3 instances of Infuse, even when left on for LONG hours, often overnight, are not processing my video files so they can be classified in the Infuse library. I get that it takes time to scan all the video files on my NAS SMB share. I would think, though, processing them and categorizing them, would work a lot faster than this. On ATV2, even after 2 full nights of Infuse being left on, there’s no movies or TV shows! So what can I do to get Infuse, on these systems, to classify the files properly? Is there any way to share the data across machines?

Problem 2: Syncing between Systems: One big reason I got Pro was to keep things synced across instances. It looks like, now, at least ATV1 is sharing that data to the cloud or Trakt, or wherever and that ATV2 seems to have downloaded it. Also, I created ONE collection on ATV1. It seems that it synced to ATV2, but NOT with Infuse on my Mac. Also, the Mac instance does not have watched metadata from ATV1. Shows I marked watched on ATV1 are not watched on the Mac and the shows I marked watched on the Mac have NOT synced with either ATV1 or ATV2. (Again, all systems are signed in to Trakt and iCloud sync/backup.) Also, the one collection I made on ATV1 did not show up on the Mac instance. Also, I created several collections on my Mac that have not shown up at all on the ATVs. This is frustrating because I’m moving over from another app, where we’ve watched a lot of shows, and it’s FAR easier and faster to go through shows and mark seasons and episodes as watched, or to group them in collections, on the Mac than on an ATV.

It appears that syncing MAY be working between the two ATVs, but I can’t tell because I can’t even get the library to populate correctly. But the frustrating issue is that the Mac instance does not seem to sync AT ALL with the ATVs.

(Also, I’ve asked in one thread, and am still not clear - do collections sync between systems for a user’s account?)

From what I’ve seen, I would really like to switch over to Infuse for video viewing, but it seems like things just are not working and I’m having trouble getting answers for most of the issues I’m encountering. I’m wondering what I’m doing wrong.

In a separate thread, I was getting help from @james and pointed him to one of the threads in the list above and he gave solved it for me, so I’m updating here:

On one Apple TV, I had a problem where it had found all the files, but was NOT classifying any of them, so I had over 25,000 “Other” files, and 0 Moves and 0 TV Shows. It turns out the “Metadata Fetching” was off. I have no idea how that happened, but I’m sure it was at a point where I was trying to set things up. It’s not an option I would choose, so maybe I misread it. Anyway, I turned it on, went into Settings->Library->Refresh Metadata. It took a few minutes, I looked away, then the screensaver going on caught my eye, and I looked back and hit a button on the remote to stop the screensaver. At that point it had found a small number of movies and TV shows. The amount doesn’t matter - what does matter is it was FINALLY categorizing movies and TV shows so we can find 'em easily.

I’ve found I had a lot of TV shows (mostly old animated ones) that, due to them being cheaply done (yes, they were the official discs - just cheap - nobody ever accused Hanna Barbera of spending extra money!), I had ordered the files with volume, disk, and track numbers at the end (figuring I could go through, at some point and make sure they matched the right titles). So the frustrating part is that I have to go through and check and rename those files. Still, that’s on me and I always knew I’d have to do that at some point.

Also, with syncing - my Mac Infuse wasn’t syncing because it was not the same version as the ones on the Apple TVs.
