Been using Infuse Pro for several months with no issues until recently and I’m not sure what is causing my issue as both Infuse Pro and AppleTv have updated recently.
My issue: Several months ago I made a decrypted backup copy of Star Wars - The Last Jedi using Makemkv and it has played fine using Infuse Pro on my Apple Tv 4K until recently. When I click on the play button the movie starts as usual except it displays the opening scene in what appears to be Spanish (should display: "A long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far, Far Away…but displays: “Hace Mucho Tiempo…” and so on), I also noticed this week my backup of Solo displays the opening in what appears to be Slovenia. After the opening scenes have played both movies have the correct English subtitles and spoken words so I’m lost in why these movies are displaying the opening text in a foreign language. I’m sure the Last Jedi displayed the opening text in English prior to the latest Apple Tv / Infuse Pro software updates These full disc backups contain many .ts files which I believe is where the problem lies but I’m not sure. I made a single file (.mkv file) using Makemkv and it plays properly.
Anybody have any idea what’s up and how to resolve? I set Infuse pro to “English” on all menu options but it did not help.
Disney has multiple versions of Video files, for foreign language. To avoid this, simple use makemkv and extract only the English video feed, normally the first track. This avoids all possible ways to play wrong video feed.
Thanks for your response. I did mention in my post that I made a mkv file from the English version and it played correctly. I just like to make a whole disc backup but I can change to avoid this issue…
Thanks for your support! The Last Jedi (backup version) played properly until the last few updates from either Firecore and/or Apple. Not sure what other title I would choose as the rest of the movie plays in English with English subtitles It only shows the opening text (forced subtitle) in a foreign language.
Something changed because it played properly in the past. I played same backup files on my OPPO 205 and it played correctly.
Update: Maybe Infuse Pro was never able to correctly play the beginning of some movies (full backup) in fact the movies that don’t start correctly are the ones when playing the discs open up with a menu that asks what language do you want and I choose English and they play fine. Using Infuse Pro that startup menu never appears. I’ve decided to use my OPPO instead of Infuse Pro. I was hopeful I could use Infuse Pro for all my media.
The question is why are you backing up video feeds you cant read unless you like to say you have slovenian video feeds you will never be able read. I can understand subs, but video feeds that take up sig more data?
Thanks again for your feedback. Your right in one respect and I’m making an English only .mkv file that plays fine but I’m doing a full backup to hopefully preserve Dolby Vision. Since I haven’t purchased a 4K Tv yet I’m not able to check if that is the case. I’m waiting until 2019 to purchase a 4K Tv with hopefully HDMI 2.1.
