Hi all!
I’m currently running PMS and Jellyfin on the same server (a QNAP TVS-871), both pointing to the same folders.
I’m actually experimenting with Jellyfin (I’ve been using PMS since… well… forever!
) and
I’m using Infuse in “direct mode” with both and I’m actually watching three shows, one from PMS (first picture) and two from Jellyfin (second picture).
Why in Infuse (both on Mac or on Apple TV where I actually watch everything) the three shows aren’t all under “In corso” (“Currently watching”? I don’t know the English version of that label)?
Even when I go to the “home” in Apple TV with all the apps icons and move the selection over the Infuse app’s icon, only the show from PMS comes up.
Am I missing some settings?
The list you are seeing in Jellyfin may be the ‘Next Up’ list which is separate from ‘Continue Watching’.
You can add this list to the Infuse Home Screen by tapping the lists icon in the upper right corner.
Note: Plex used to have a similar list called ‘On Deck’ but it was merged into ‘Continue Watching’ awhile back. So far Jellfyfin has not merged these 2 lists.
Jellyfin’s ‘Continue Watching’ list will be displayed in the top row in Infuse (landscape artwork). You can enable disable this by adjusting the ‘Up Next List’ option found in Infuse > Settings > General.
The ‘Next Up’ list is separate and will often show different items.
Do you currently have any items in Jellyfin’s Continue Watching (Continua a guardare) list when you view the web UI?
Based on your screenshots, it seems like this is set as list #1 so it should appear at the top of the Jellyfin Home Screen on web, but the first item listed there is Prossimo which would seem to indicate the Continua a guardare list is empty.
I’m watching Agents Of Shield on my Apple TV.
Jellyfin web:
Infuse on my iPad:
As soon as the episode ends, in Infuse only X-Files from Plex is shown under “Currently watching” but obviously I’m not watching an episode “right now”, it’s just the next one.
Jellyfin shows are shown only under “Next” when not actively playing.
And this is reflected ho Apple TV home: when I move over Infuse icon, only stuff from Plex is shown.
That’s correct.
Jellyfin will show in progress items in that list. The next episode would be displayed in a separate list.
This approach is a bit confusing, and it’s part of the reason Plex merged their two lists together a number of years back. Jellyfin has talked about doing the same but as of right now they are still separate.
Infuse present the lists as-is from the Jellyfin server when connecting in Direct Mode. If you switch to using Library Mode then you would see something a bit closer to Plex’s approach.
More info on Library Mode vs Direct Mode can be found in this guide.
Thanks again for the clarification!
I’ll stick with direct mode due to performance (library mode is too slow to update, etc).
If you ever did want to try Library Mode, I would definitely recommend installing InfuseSync on the sever. This will make things dramatically faster when connecting to Emby or Jellyfin.
Hi james.
I’ve tried as suggested but with no luck.
Maybe I did something in the wrong way?
In Jellyfin I started a third show:
I’ve installed InfuseSync plugin:
Configured the library mode in Infuse:
And Jellyfin show that I’m connected in “library” mode:
But again in Infuse Jellyfin shows are shown only in “In primo piano” on the second row, not in “Continua a guardare” as X-Files from Plex, and in the items I may “pin” in Infuse from Jellyfin library there is no “Currently watching” or similar:
in Library mode, if in Infuse → Settings → General I change this from “In corso” to “On”:
then in the first row movies and shows from both are shown, but they looks like “recently added”, not currently watching (there is stuff that I never watched, say “Euphoria”).
So… if everything is as suggested, I guess that Infuse cannot display the shows in the second row that come from Jellyfin (library or direct mode doesn’t change this behavior) in the first row?
If so, would be possible in a future update to “merge” the two rows in Infuse independently from the “source” (Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, direct mode or library mode, etc)?
Thanks again for your patience!
[EDIT] here a screenshot from Moonfin:
“Keep watching” and “Next up” are in the same row, so it can be done “client side” even if Jellyfin have them separated.
