Infuse merging battlestar galactica 2003 series with 2004 series

infuse is all of a sudden merging the battlestar galactica 2003 mini series with the 2004 series and when you update the metadata on one it updates the other i cant get them to seperate, the files are named using tmdb as the meta source so they look like this

Battlestar Galactica (2003) S01E01 - Part 1 for the mini series

Battlestar Galactica (2004) S01E01 - 33 for the main series

You can try naming the mini series
“Battlestar Galactica The Mini-Series S01E01.mkv”
(this is an alternate title on TMDB for this one)

and for the full series of 2004 you should be able to leave it as you have it.

Don’t forget to change the series folder for the new name for the mini series.

i actually changed it to that and a couple of other ways, but i have found the issue, when i download the eps from my plex server infuse renames them both battlestar galactica s1e1 with out the year but if i transfer the files over using usb it works correctly and each is matched properly.

so the issue is for some reason plex is nolonger keeping the year when it renames the files during syncing

As far as I know Infuse never renames any files so like you said, it seems plex is doing something.

This is really a wild guess but have you tried putting the year in the file name without the parentheses?

2004 instead of (2004)

Just in case the parentheses are being taken as a special character by some function.

I’ll give that a shot when I get home.

I don’t know if it’s Plex or infuse but the files have always been renamed everytime I’ve synced from the server, on the server they are named using the Plex naming convention so like series year s01e01 episode name, but when I download them to infuse they get renamed series s1-ep1.

Hopefully when they introduce better Plex integration it will help with this until I guess I’ll just use iTunes to transfer any problematic ones

ok so it is a plex problem, plex for some bloody reason names battlestar galactica (1978), battlestar galactica (2003) and battlestar galactica (2004) as battlestar galactica without a year so no matter how i name the files they will all be called battlestar galactica when ever i download to infuse

You can manually edit title names, years, posters and backgrounds on Plex server, just edit out the issue.
