Infuse does not respect Jellyfin collection sort

I’d love to have the ability for infuse to respect Jellyfin collection sorting, even on large collections. I’ve noticed if the collection is smaller maybe under 50 items? It seems to respect the sort order of the Jellyfin collection on the infuse home page once the collection is pinned, however, once that collection size increases, the homepage row stops respecting the Jellyfin sort order when displaying in the row.

Funnily enough if you click “see all” the collection order is still correct! So I’m hoping this is a small fix. The reason I’m hoping for this is because I’ve hacked my way through Jellyfin collections to get random sorting on mdblist popular content etc. so I’m basically trying to curate media for discovery, when collections refresh in Jellyfin at least the smaller ones seem to shuffle on the infuse home page as well. I’d really appreciate any fix or update here as it’s the final piece before my home page is “complete” thank you.

Same issue here on Infuse version 8.4.1 and Jellyfin 10.11.7.

There is a workaround but it’s very limited (and won’t really work in your case for randomizing the order, I myself also cannot use it for my use case sadly) as it requires you to manually edit the metadata of your Jellyfin library items. If you pin a collection to the Infuse Home Screen that has been sorted by “Sort name” in Jellyfin, Infuse will display it in the correct order (i.e. the same as you see in Jellyfin). You can then modify the sort name for each item in your library which will change the order in the collection in both Jellyfin and Infuse.

Any other Jellyfin “Display order” setting will just make Infuse order them based on release date.

The homepage row doesn’t respect Plex’s collection order either. I have mine set to show 5 last added movies in the collection (my work around for different Infuse issue), and it will create its own order (appears to be by year). With a full collection, it still shows by year and bypasses the correct user defined order.
