Infuse change all my last films covers with the same image

Hello everyone,

I’ve been using Infuse since Infuse 4 and have never had any issues with movie or series covers.

But since Infuse 8, whenever I add batches of movies, Infuse doesn’t apply covers to all of them. When I go to edit a movie’s metadata and choose a cover, it gets applied to other movies as well.

Some films even have covers that have nothing to do with the film.

Example: A MOHANA 2 cover for Pocahontas.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you in advance for your help.

How are you connected to your server? SMB FTP UPnP DLNA Plex Jellyfin Emby etc.

Also, what version number of Infuse and what OS version on what device?

Could you provide the file names of a few of the files that are duplicating and a few of the ones that are wrong?

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. Here is the information:

I am connected via SMB to SYNOLOGY NAS.
I am using Apple TV 4K with TvOS 18.5.
I have Infuse Pro 8.2.6 (5361).

Here are some names of films that pose problems:

  • Vaiana_2_(2024)
  • Pocahontas_(1995) this the name on my nas and on Infuse i see Pocahontas.1995.MULTI.1080p.Bluray.HDLight.x265

Under Settings > General, what do you have selected for Prefer Embedded Artwork?

Also make sure you don’t have Embedded selected for the metadata

No, this option is disabled, but I do have the ‘Metadata recovery’ section enabled.

For example, for the french movie “20 ans d’écart” (20_ans_d’écart.mkv), Infuse puts on the cover of the film ‘The Ugly Truth’ (2009).

This whole thing is starting to drive me mad because I don’t understand why he’s doing this now.

Try naming the file

20_ans_d’écart 2013.mkv

Without the year Infuse will take the first movie it runs across with a close name.

What I don’t understand is how Infuse manages to display the original name of the downloaded file when it has been renamed and is no longer present on the NAS.

If you do a “refresh metadata” on the Library settings page does it update to the correct name?

Not yet !

Renaming the file will only change what you see in your file explorer. If you you look at it in media info it’ll show the filename within the mkv. You can see below one of my files - I’ve renamed it but the original is still there.
