Infuse 8 - Now Available šŸš€

I’ve created a suggestion for it here, if you’d like to show your support by giving it a like:

Are we going to get an update soon? Perhaps a rollback, since the previous version was perfectly fine. I could do without the enhancements and bug fixes introduced in v8, because now the app looks terrible and is almost unusable in terms of convenient UX. At least before, we were all used to the layout. Now, it’s extremely cumbersome to navigate, and the design feels sloppy and poorly thought out.

While playback buffering has improved, and a few other things are better, there are so many bugs and visual errors that it’s hard to believe. I paid $100 for this, and now the centerpiece of my home theater looks like a mess. I have a 55 and 65-inch TV, and you’ve shrunk the icons to the point that I have to drop my resolution to 1080p to make it look decent, which defeats the purpose of having a 4K TV.

Fix this immediately. As a paying customer, I demand the ability to roll back to the previous version until you resolve these issues. This update didn’t deliver what was promised—there’s no customizable, enhanced interface like you claimed. Instead, you’ve gaslit us with false promises.

Seriously. people complaining and be so harsh about this update, threating to cancel their sub over some underwhelming update.

Bro… its $10 a YEAR cost sub. That is like one McDonalds Value meal these days… chill out peoples.
They will push out updates on their time table, not yours. If you don’t like it, no one is forcing you to use Infuse. There are other options out there.

Btw… I’ve seen a few reports now about smaller icons or something looking bad on large displays. I’m using a 65ā€ TV in 4K and I’m not seeing any differences in sizing anywhere. Can someone fill me in?

It can be a little extreme at times for sure. But I suppose people are waiting for some response from the devs here on what will actually be done. Some are calling for rollbacks (I wouldn’t expect this to happen or even think it should) and others want to know what changes will happen to the controls. Will the timeline auto-hide when paused? Will jump seek work properly with skip intro and next episode on screen? Are there any plans to add the missing ā€œget subtitlesā€ to the quick subtitle selection menu? What meaningful changes will happen to the details screens, and/or will there be any besides the ratings changes that have already been talked about?

Do they not have a thread on here that lists all the upcoming changes/features, their timetable etc. for each version coming?

Congrats with the new version looking good. However RT rating doesn’t match. For instance Ransom shows RT 69 in Infuse but not in RT homepage. I have several of these.

A post was split to a new topic: Access Cast While Watching Movie

I like the Infuse 8. I don’t like the ratings, I feel judged. If something is in my Plex library it’s because I want it there.

It would be nice to see a total overhaul of the home screen (after soo many years!).

I wish people had not shown us the Vision screens, somehow it looks nicer, and now I want too

Check out 8.0.1

It looks like garbage now it’s almost unusable as far as Convenient UX

Now it’s extremely cumbersome to use it’s ugly because Placement is not well thought out

but there’s so many other bugs and visual errors it’s unbelievable

and now it looks like complete garbage

you shrunk the icons and in order for me to make it look better

I’ve been using it for 2 days now and it’s fine. I have no idea what you’re talking about when you say ā€˜garbage’, ā€˜unusable’, ā€˜cumbersome’, etc.

Different in a couple of places. Sure. To be helpful, why don’t you take some pictures and describe your actual issues so the devs can help. Your long winded posts will most likely be ignored as they offer no substance.

we didn’t get everything you told us you were going to give us with a new more customizable enhanced interface none of that that you promised actually happened, you gaslit us

Nobody promised anything. Software isn’t baking a cake where you follow a few instructions and out pops the end result in a set time. Things change, like the home page updates have been delayed a bit so they could release the features that are ready.

I have a 65 inch TV, and when I updated I noticed that all the artwork had gotten smaller and the spaces between the artwork and all of the layout assets had grown, this is not noticeable on the 43 inch TVs we have it actually looks pretty decent it fits them better but any TV that is large format I imagine 50 and above looks like complete garbage when you are sitting any more than five or six feet away from the TV it’s hard to make out a lot of the text or images have been shrunken down for the thumbnails it’s not Significantly smaller but enough to notice, like they try to match the recent tvOS updates where they allowed for one more icon by making all the artwork smaller to fit, this should be allowed to be adjustable for larger format TVs, I can’t imagine what it looks like on an 80 inch. In order to fix this problem I’ve had to drop my resolution from 4K to 1080P which is disgusting because Over 600 films in my library are 4K resolution and now I don’t get to use that Option, otherwise the menu system looks horrible, example: the bridge to Terabithia artwork is unrecognizable you can’t tell what the movie is unless you look at the text description so you have to have that option on.

I have the previous version installed on another Apple TV that I have not updated, I’ll get some pictures later tonight and post them if I can

I have the previous version on another Apple TV that I have not updated I’ll try to get some pictures tonight and See if I can post them, I Used the word garbage to be polite, I’m extremely angry at the changes because they have completely ruined the set up that Had been very very happy with previously, The in playback menu system UX is not very user intuitive not to mention the shrinking of all the thumbnail artwork

I was a bit disappointed the Home Screen has not changed yet but I am glad it is now on Vision. I can’t afford one but when Apple releases a cheaper headset I am a lot more likely to pull the trigger now that Infuse is available for it.

Looking forward to seeing the differences. My main TV is 65ā€ and I’ve not had any show stopping issues. Everything looks fine and works well. Also if there were issues my wife would’ve mentioned them by now.

Where did you make this resolution change?

I’m extremely angry at the changes because they have completely ruined the set up that Had been very very happy with previously

A general tip - when I have a close to perfect ā€˜critical’ setup I always turn off auto updates (critical as in I really don’t want this messing up). No point risking a stable environment. On important systems (like servers) I update manually after checking online for potential issues, reading release notes etc.

On Apple TV, when you swipe up / down - it would be nice if the info bar or the playback controls dsiappeared after some seconds. Now in some instances I have to press the back button.

Dropped the resolution from 4K to 1080P in the Apple TV settings, so the display is now larger and more zoomed in but I lose 4K functionality
