Infuse 8 - Now Available 🚀

Today we are excited to announce the release of Infuse 8 for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac
and Vision!

Infuse 8 features an all-new app for Apple Vision Pro, fresh new designs for all devices, revamped app internals, new player controls, and many other exciting new changes.

Apple Vision Pro

Infuse 8 includes a brand-new, fully native app for Apple Vision Pro! Vision users can now enjoy the full array of Infuse powerful features available on other devices on a massive virtual screen. Additional Vision-specific features such as 3D video and immersive environments are in progress and will be available soon.

Refreshed layout and designs

Fresh new designs are now available on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac. These updates blend an inspiring new layout with the minimalistic nature of Infuse that you have come to know and love for a great balance of style and usability. Note: On Apple TV, the New layout can be enabled by adjusting the ‘Details View’ option found in Infuse > Settings > General.

All-new modern infrastructure

Lots of things have changed since Infuse was first released in 2013. Libraries which used to consist of only a handful of small files can now easily extend to tens of thousands of massive 4K videos. We took a big step towards handling these larger libraries with the addition of Direct Mode earlier this year and 8.0 builds on that same focus with an entirely revamped browsing infrastructure. This provides significantly better app performance and faster loading of lists and items on the home screen - especially for those with larger libraries or multiple servers.

New player controls

The new playback overlay features a contemporary design and has been fine-tuned to provide easy access to commonly used options such as audio/subtitle track selection, volume boost, and playback speed.

Optimized for the latest devices

Along with improvements for the latest versions of Apple’s software, optimizations for the newest devices - such as the new iPhone 16 models - have also been added. This allows your library and artwork to appear beautifully just like you have come to expect from Infuse.

Upgrade for free! :tada:

Infuse 8 is a free automatic update for all Infuse 7 users - and is waiting for you in the App Store right now!

The all-new Vision app is available as a free download on the Vision App Store and all active Pro subscriptions can be used and shared with family members without having to make any additional purchases. :raised_hands:

Those running older legacy versions (Infuse v4, v5, and v6) can get a free year of Infuse Pro when upgrading to Infuse 8.

Thanks!

We’re super-excited about the release of Infuse 8 and we really hope you enjoy using it as much as we do.

We always love hearing your comments, feedback, and suggestions—so please feel free to continue the conversation below.

Thanks so much for using Infuse! :orange_heart:

Infuse Update 8! :rocket: I am absolutely thrilled with the new Infuse Update 8! The streaming experience has really improved to an ultra-crazy level. I used to constantly have to wait nervously until the video was buffered by at least 5 millimeters so that I could enjoy it continuously. Stop these interruptions! Now streaming flows like never before - no more jerking or loading pauses. I was particularly impressed by how much faster pCloud loads. Working with my files is now much quicker and I can immerse myself in the action straight away. :tada: Overall, this update has revolutionized my streaming experience. An absolute must for every Infuse user! Thanks to the team that made this possible!:sparkles:(Infuse :popcorn::movie_camera:)

I really like the new UI. The Firecore team is to be congratulated! Now I just hope that in the near future some features will be implemented that have been requested for a long time.

By the way, is it possible to disable the ratings from trakt and TMDB? I don’t really like seeing them there.

Thanks for the kind words. That’s great to hear!

An option to adjust the ratings you see will be available shortly.

Hi @james ,

I really like the new designs!
You wrote that some commonly used options, especially playback speed, are now easily accessible. Above the playback bar I only have the option to change the subtiles and audio, but no icon for playback speed. How can I adjust the speed easily?

In 8.0 we added quick options for playback speed and volume boost on iOS/Mac, but these didn’t make to Apple TV (yet). We’re still working through a few ideas for this as we didn’t want to clutter the UI with too many buttons.

Oh OK I understand. Thank you for the quick answer.

no new design on macos, no airpods bug fix. extremely bad

A post was split to a new topic: Error when streaming

Hi. Maybe I am missing it
I honestly don’t see any change on my ATV. UI looks exactly the same except for ratings. When I delete an episode or movie, it doesn’t remove the entry unless I press back to the home screen and then back into the folder. Could someone maybe draw me some pictures ( or add screenshots) to show what actually changed?

Did you see this?

Thanks. Will have a look

Ok. Had a look. Still don’t see a difference from 7.8
So I must be missing what the new UI IS :joy:
But that is tomorrow’s problem

Hi @james , it’s me again.
So with the new layout, I cannot see the episode title above and the metadata (like resolution etc) anymore, when I scroll between the episodes. I personally think this is a downgrade from the older view (modern). Maybe you can put that area a little bit more down?
But beside that I like the new view.

Good catch, I use that info too when choosing episodes at times. :+1:

Not a big issue but some times my server is slow because it was sleeping and in this case when the logo doesn’t appear immidietly Infuse use text, but once the logo is loaded the UI adjust itself abruptly and moves down to make space for the logo, that makes it feel less premium.

Maybe if the texts/buttons didn’t depend on the position of the logo this effect would be fixed?

Also It would be nice if the TMDB and Trakt rating could be disable, make the ui a bit busy.

Congrats on the release. I know you’ve been working for a long time on it. Looks great, however now that you’ve gotten it out are we finally going to get proper sorting options for Plex movies and tv shows?

On my iPad M4 11“ the metadata screen layout is much than with version 7.x. The movie description uses only a small part of the screen on the left although there is more than enough space.
The captions unter the preview screens for the episodes are not visible initially. You have to scroll down just a little bit.

No big issues, but also not very professional. I hope this will be fixed soon.

The only change is on the Details screen for a movie or TV series. If you switch between the New and Modern setting you will see the difference.

I’m not so keen on the New design. It seems a little busy and cramped on screen compared to Modern. So it is great that we have the choice.
