Infuse 8 Coming This Fall (2024)

I’ve been using CoreELEC (a Kodi fork) on an Amlogic device for a long time, and it’s been working perfectly. However, I’ve been considering switching to Infuse on Apple TV for quite some time now. The smooth UI and ongoing support are major factors driving me to consider purchasing the lifetime subscription and finally making the jump.

Is there a tech specification comparison sheet available where I can compare various Kodi devices or forks, such as the Nvidia Shield, Vero 5 (OSMC), etc., against the latest Apple TV using Infuse 7 (or 8)? I’m aware of the limitation with uncompressed Dolby Atmos audio, which I’m okay with. What other technical aspects should I be aware of before making the switch?

Apple TV does not have Dolby Vision 7 support. It does not have BluRay/DVD menu support.
Otherwise, everything plays. The interface is clear and user-friendly. Just try it and draw your own conclusions

Is there a date for the release of Infuse 8 yet?
Can we expect a lot of new features for tvOS or will it be almost visionOS-oriented?

The fall is about as precise as it’s going to get is my guess.
Here’s what in the works

tvOS 18 is coming out on September 16th. It would be great if infuse 8.0 was also released on September 16th

Infuse 8 will be released after the 16th, though Infuse 7 works quite well on the new updates from Apple.

There is one issue we are working to resolve and will have an update for Infuse 7 available soon.
