Confirmed on Infuse 8.5 for Apple TV. The issue occurs only when browsing the SMB share through File Browser. The same episodes display their correct individual titles in Library mode. In File Browser, every episode card instead shows the matched series title, while the selected episode’s header still shows the correct episode title.
Am I the only one unable to submit ratings to trakt? Nothing is being scrobbled. If I try to rate it just hangs. I tried to disconnect and reconnect to Trakt but it did not help.
This is a great update! Transcoding is a game changer!
Currently in ‘Settings’, the two options for transcoding are ‘off’ and ‘ask’. It would be great to be able to set a max bitrate here so that I can set this up once on my kids devices and forget it.
An alternative would be to have Infuse respect the max streaming bitrate configured on the Jellyfin server - but I expect the client-side setting would be more straightforward to implement.
I hope this episode name issue gets fixed quickly since I ONLY browse shows through the file browser.

The Plex server is doing the actual transcoding, so the video stream Infuse receives should be the same as what the Plex app would get.
This is a feature we’re working to have available soon.
In theory, transcoding may allow for AirPlaying some formats which are not normally supported with AirPlay, but there are some aspects of this we are still working on.
The Apple TV remote has a limited number of buttons so it’s not really possible to have every feature active at once. However, if you Skip Mode set to Videos you can still long-press the left/right arrows to seek backwards and forwards.
Alternatively, you can set Skip Mode to Time or Chapters and use the Playback Queue option during playback to skip directly to other videos.
I guess it just really depends on which feature you see yourself using more often.

In actual TV usage, fast-forward and rewind are used very frequently, while switching to the next or previous video occurs rarely. Therefore, adding two buttons on the TV playback interface specifically for video navigation is the optimal solution.
The codecs that are currently an issue were NOT an issue pre IOS26 timeframe. It’s detailed in other threads which ones are the issue. But the ones that won’t play now, were 100% fine a year’ish ago.
So having to transcode doesn’t make sense to me unless something changed that I just don’t understand? If they worked before I don’t see why they wouldn’t still work without transcoding? But I am not an expert so curious to see what you think

Great update! Thanks for adding transcoding support for playback. I was really hoping this would come with download support, though. I use jellyfin for playing content on my daughter’s iPad and I currently use Infuse alongside Streamyfin because in that app, I can download lower quality transcodes to save space on the device and download more content.
